Job description: About the Job: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Vertical Transportation (VT) Engineer with proven experience in the design, analysis, and coordination of vertical transportation systems for major projects across diverse sectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive consultancy and PMC experience in both low-rise and high-rise developments, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality elevator, escalator, and travellator system designs. Key Responsibilities/Deliverables: Lead and manage VT design and specification activities for various building types and sectors. Perform lift traffic studies, tender analysis, and drawing reviews to ensure compliance with client and project requirements. Prepare, review, and coordinate VT designs from concept through detailed and tender stages, maintaining alignment with international codes and standards. Manage technical coordination meetings with project design teams, VT suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure design intent is achieved during all stages. Collaborate closely with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and IT disciplines to ensure proper integration of VT systems. Conduct design review and clarification workshops, and participate in client presentations as required. Oversee quality control of VT deliverables and ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and building regulations. Perform site visits to verify installation works and ensure that VT systems are implemented according to the approved design. Utilize ELEVATE software (mandatory) for traffic analysis and performance simulation. Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and technical correspondence. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 10 years of experience in vertical transportation system design and consultancy. Proven PMC experience in the Middle East, preferably with exposure to both low-rise and high-rise projects. Strong knowledge of international VT codes, standards, and building codes. Hands-on experience with ELEVATE software (mandatory). Proficiency in CAD, BIM, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail-oriented and capable of interpreting complex project requirements. Language Proficiency Requirements: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required. Knowledge and Functional Competencies: Deep understanding of vertical transportation systems and performance optimization principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to review and validate supplier proposals and technical submittals. Familiarity with the latest technologies and trends in vertical transportation design. Proven track record of delivering efficient and compliant VT solutions for large-scale developments.
