The Mission of Veterans Place is to empower veterans' transition from homeless to home, ending the cycle of homelessness, and to assist all at-risk veterans to become engaged, valuable citizens who contribute to their communities. Position SummaryThe Operations Coordinator provides vital administrative and operational support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of program services. This position plays a key role in coordinating day-to-day activities, planning, executing and supporting events, assisting with reporting requirements, and supporting communication between program staff and leadership. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to service excellence are essential in supporting the mission and goals of Veterans Place. Essential FunctionsOutreach (10%):

Assist with outreach events, including health fairs, resource fairs, and community events, to connect with veterans and promote available services. Conduct tours of the facility for guests, as needed. Program Support and Veteran Engagement (60%): Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement veteran engagement strategies, ensuring that services are responsive to the needs of the veteran community. Coordinate with Leadership in the planning and execution of veteran recognition programs, events, holiday celebrations and activities to honor and celebrate the contributions of veterans. Support program implementation and operations, as needed.

Conduct Fraud, Waste, and Abuse service checks for the Recovery Support Program. Development Support (10%): Support the Director of Operations and Development in coordinating internal and external fundraising activities, events, including logistics planning, volunteer recruitment, and engagement strategies. Support the organization in collecting, organizing, and distributing in-kind donations. Administrative Support (20%): Support and assist the Director of Operations and Development by coordinating logistics for community events, meetings, and outreach activities, including venue selection, scheduling, and logistics coordination. Manage all shared calendars for the organization. Manage vehicle trackers for the organization. Track distributions for qualified grants.

Assist with preparation of information for the accounting team for bank runs, tax filings, and audits. Provide support to other departments and team members as needed to advance organizational goals and initiatives. Order, maintain and manage general supplies, office supplies, food and materials necessary for all events as well as the general operations of Veterans Place and Veterans Place offices. Position QualificationsDegree in Human Services, Administration, Public Relations, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of three years of professional experience in administration or behavioral health, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Demonstrated success in support and administrative capacities. Self-starter with an ability to keep supervisor aware of, and up to date on a project's progress as well as any challenges that arise. Knowledge of veteran issues, programs, and services preferred. Commitment to the mission and values of Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: Ability to focus on program details, follow through with timelines, and attend to multiple tasks and interactions. Ability to retain and recall information regarding clients, policies, procedures, and schedules. Capable of identifying issues, evaluating solutions, and making appropriate decisions independently or collaboratively. Ability to comprehend written and verbal information, express thoughts clearly, and communicate effectively with diverse populations (e. g. , staff, veterans)Capacity to manage time effectively, maintain accurate records, coordinate meetings.

Adequate visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) to read documents, use a computer, and observe participants in meetings or events. Adequate auditory ability (with or without assistive devices) to understand conversations in person, over the phone, or in virtual meetings. Clear verbal expression to articulate expectations, deliver feedback, and conduct presentationsAbility to use hands for basic tasks, including writing, typing, and handling documents. Physical Demand StatementsMust be able to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 20 pounds regularly using proper lifting techniques. Required to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours daily on concrete surfaces.

Ability to sit and use computer for extended periods (4+ hours) with breaks. Job functions include working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
