Vice President - Business Development - Equities

The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding HKEX’s market share and executing its strategic plan by engaging with institutional clients across Europe.Coverage includes (but not limited to) Asset Managers, Pension Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Insurance Companies, and Hedge Funds.A strong network across European institutional clients is a prerequisite.Experience in Hong Kong markets — either in Cash or Derivatives — is highly desirable.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute targeted, integrated, and effective client engagement plans and revenue-generating campaigns aligned with HKEX’s business goals.Source, incubate, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key contacts at institutional client firms.Structure solutions to client business challenges by collaborating with internal HKEX teams such as Product Development, Cash & Derivatives Trading Operations, and other relevant departments.Partner with internal business leads to deliver assigned projects efficiently and cost-effectively within approved budgets.Represent HKEX at key industry events, including speaking engagements, roundtables, and forums to drive client engagement and brand visibility.Required Knowledge and Experience:Proven track record in client-facing roles with direct responsibility for institutional coverage and revenue generation, particularly within Equities (Cash or Derivatives).Proven ability to engage with clients across various seniority levels within institutional firms.Deep understanding of European client dynamics, with the ability to facilitate solutions across Global Equity and China/HK Stock Markets.Additional experience in Fixed Income or FX is a plus.Skills and Core Competencies:Ability to develop and prioritise client engagement strategies aligned with business plans.Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong commercial drive; comfortable working independently and taking initiative to identify and pursue opportunities.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent HKEX publicly at industry conferences and associations.Fluency in written and spoken English for business communication is required.Proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
