If so, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity to join Novo Nordisk Japan as Vice President of the Cardiometabolic Marketing division.The positionAs Vice President of Cardiometabolic Marketing in Novo Nordisk Japan, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership team for the affiliate and setting the strategic direction across the country’s core cardiometabolic portfolio. You will lead a team of over 50 colleagues to drive accelerated growth of the obesity and diabetes franchise in the near term. You will also have strategic oversight for cardiovascular and emerging therapy areas to ensure sustained growth longer term.Your key responsibilities will include:Setting the overall vision and strategic direction for Cardiometabolic Marketing for Novo Nordisk Japan and mobilise the team to achieve bold ambitionsCultivating a play-to-win culture and growth mindset across the divisionOptimising resource allocation, organisational structure, and personnel deployment for maximum impactEstablishing and overseeing processes, governance, and day-to-day operations for the divisionElevating capabilities for the division to ensure current success and future readinessDelivering or exceeding revenue targets for the division and key focus brands while managing operating costs within targetsDriving disciplined operational planning, execution, performance management, and investment in new growth opportunitiesOverseeing development and execution of cross-functional commercial strategies for core brands, including Wegovy® and Ozempic®Representing the division internally, maintaining open stakeholder communication, and inspiring the wider organisation on the cardiometabolic business and core storyDeveloping and coaching talent through ongoing mentoring, succession planning, and collaboration with other members of the Japanese Leadership Team (JLT) for broader talent management.This role reports directly to the General Manager of Novo Nordisk Japan and serves as a member of the Japan Leadership Team (JLT). The role is based in Tokyo, Japan.Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Japanese is a strong advantage.Qualifications & Work ExperienceTo excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and skills:Over 15 years of progressive commercial leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industryBroad and diverse commercial background with deep expertise in marketing disciplines (including prior brand and portfolio leadership) combined with commercial experience beyond marketingDemonstrated experience driving P&L through effective commercial planning and executionA proven record of success in managing, leading and motivating a complex and cross-functional matrixed organisationMarketing leadership experience across multiple brands/therapeutic areas and asset life cycle stages from early-stage development, pre-launch, launch, to in-line phasesAdvanced collaboration skills and experience across functions, cultures and geographies (e.g., Japan and other countries/regions/global HQ), with the ability to influence across organizational levelsHigh degree of integrity, resilience and transparency (able to lead in harmony with our Novo Nordisk Way)University degree; an advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA, MS, PhD, etc.)Novo Nordisk JapanNovo Nordisk conducts business throughout Japan and has a history in the country dating back more than 61 years.With headquarters in Tokyo, Novo Nordisk employs passionate and engaged colleagues who are empowered to overcome challenges and drive changes in a fast-changing environment.
