Canadian founded, they run global operations with a diverse portfolio of brands. Currently, they are seeking a VP, Finance to play a critical role in supporting the company’s growth, transformation initiatives and public reporting obligations. Reporting to the CFO, this is a highly visible role which will deeply impact the broader enterprise financial strategy as it continues to grow both organically and through acquisitions. The ideal candidate will be a CPA/CA with 13+ years of expertise working in fast-paced complex public organizations, deep IFRS experience, strong continuous improvement mentality, and the ability to scale and lead a high-performing team. A leader with a history of providing analytical and operational insights, supporting informed decision-making, and driving value creation will be impactful here. Role ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly, quarterly and annual year-end close process, ensuring accurate global consolidation of all subsidiaries and translation of balances reported in foreign currencies, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirementsImplement and monitor financial controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and to protect company assetsComplete the analysis and resolution of complex technical accounting issues and the execution of regulatory updates, including the coordination with auditors and cross-functional operating teams. Ensure consistent classification of accounting transactions across all subsidiaries, including accounting for mergers and acquisitionsCoordinate and manage the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statementsLead initiatives to enhance and streamline financial processes across the organization.Prepare and present key financial materials and reports to the Audit Committee and Board of DirectorsOversee all public company financial regulatory filings, including MD&A, financial statements, in compliance with stock exchange and securities regulatory requirements (e.g., SEDAR+ in Canada and SEC).Champion digital finance transformation, including automation of financial processes, ERP optimization, and adoption of advanced analytics to enable data-driven decision making.Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports and broader staff, providing feedback and developing and growing employees.Support and lead aspects of the integration of acquisitionsDesired Qualifications13 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with most recent scope at a senior leadership level in a complex public company accounting environment.CPA/CA (or equivalent) with previous progressive experience in an accounting/audit firm.Experience within a publicly traded organization; relevant global and/or regulated experience is an asset.Highly skilled in quality process improvement techniques and change management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAdept at proactively identifying and resolving complex issues and bringing together the right stakeholders to the table.Excellent planning and organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong technical IFRS accounting knowledge is required.Please note that at present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.This open role is currently being featured by Thorek/Scott and Partners!
