The Opportunity:Our client, a Canadian leader in sustainable waste and recycling containment systems, is seeking a Vice President, Business Development – Canada to join its Strategic Management Team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving national growth, strengthening partnerships, and guiding a team of passionate business development professionals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s next chapter of expansion—leading with strategy, creativity, and vision.What You’ll Be Doing:Serve as a key member of the Strategic Management Team, contributing to corporate vision, business planning, and long-term growth objectives.Lead, mentor, and inspire a national sales and business development team—fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and accountability.Build capability across all sales channels (direct, distributor, agent, and partner) through structured training, coaching, and mentorship programs.Establish clear revenue goals, market strategies, and KPIs, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader business priorities.Conduct leadership and performance meetings regularly to drive engagement, alignment, and results.Oversee the company’s national partner and distributor networks, ensuring brand consistency and strategic alignment across regions.Identify and secure new business opportunities in emerging markets, building strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.Recruit and manage sales agents in strategic regions to drive growth and market penetration.Support distributor and partner success through training initiatives, co-marketing efforts, and joint business planning.Build and maintain executive-level relationships with major clients, municipalities, and industry partners.Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events, positioning it as an innovative leader in sustainable waste management.Collaborate closely with Marketing to ensure teams and partners are equipped with compelling materials that enhance market competitiveness. Work hand-in-hand with Operations and Production teams to bring new innovations and product enhancements to market efficiently.Ensure accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and activity reporting through Salesforce CRM.Align business development execution with operational delivery to ensure a seamless customer experience and long-term client satisfaction.What You’ll Need to Be Successful:Proven Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in sales leadership at the Director level or higher, with a track record of driving sustained revenue growth and building high-performing teams.Channel Management Expertise: Strong background in developing and managing multi-channel sales environments, including direct sales, distributors, partners, and agents.People Development Skills: Exceptional coaching and mentoring ability, with experience implementing structured training and performance management programs.Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate corporate objectives into actionable sales strategies, with sound judgment and operational discipline.Relationship Builder: Adept at developing partnerships with municipalities, service providers, and national accounts, with strong negotiation and communication skills.Process-Oriented Leadership: Skilled in designing team structures, sales processes, and performance frameworks that drive measurable results.Adaptability & Drive: Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and market expansion.Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel frequently across Canada and maintain a regular presence at the company’s Ontario headquarters.Fluency in both English and French would be considered an asset.
