As a result of our 30 + years of recruitment experience, we have a broad global and domestic reach and proven reputation for building high calibre and cohesive teams for our repeat clients, from partner to associate levels.Vice President/Principal – Private Equity Investments - Toronto Our Client:Our client is a specialized private equity investment firm based in Toronto. They invest in mid-market growth companies within North America. They are backed by a global multi-platform alternative asset manager which positions them for continued growth. Following the successful closing of their first fund, they are looking to add a Vice President or Principal to their growing team based in Toronto. The role will focus on investment due diligence and execution, mentoring of junior team members and portfolio management, a full cycle private equity role. The firm has already closed several investments and has an extensive pipeline of opportunities. The Role:Manage and lead various stages of a private equity investment including due diligence, execution, staffing junior staff members, working closely with lenders and third-party advisors, senior partners, and senior executives of portfolio companies in their value creation strategy.Become a true contributing member of the teamWork collaboratively with all members of the team, including support staffBuild trust with senior executives internal and externalDevelop a strong subject matter experience in the agri-food industryAttend conferences and trade showsRole Requirements:Strong desire to be part of an entrepreneurial team who are excited to build and grow togetherPrevious private equity investing experience within North America, required5-7 years overall experience including investment banking, private equity and/or corporate developmentBachelor’s degree in business or commerce, MBA, CFA or CPA background an assetStrong understanding of businesses and operationsExperience working with owner operators on strategic initiatives inherent in growing portfolio companiesCritical and curious mindset, able to communicate points of view in a positive collegial and informed mannerOversee financial modeling and create models in cases where complexity of transaction requires senior expertisePrepare first drafts of transaction documentation - term sheets, transaction documents and liaise with external counsel as neededPrevious experience mentoring and developing junior team members with enthusiasm requiredExcellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, interpersonal, problem-solving, financial analysis, and organizational skillsMust be legally eligible to work in Canada to be consideredOur client an equal opportunity employer.
