KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Edit raw footage into polished final cuts for: • YouTube episodes (vlogs, shows, behind-the-scenes) • Short-form ads and commercial spots • Full-length documentaries and films 2. Collaborate with directors, producers, and content creators to align visual style and story 3. Implement sound design, visual effects, graphics, and color correction as needed 4. Manage file organization, backup, and version control 5. Cut trailers, teasers, and social snippets from main content 6. Optimize videos for platforms (YouTube SEO, aspect ratios, thumbnails) 7. Maintain turnaround speed without compromising quality 8. Work with content and marketing teams on repurposing edits for multi-platform use 9. Stay updated on visual storytelling trends, editing styles, and tools 10. Contribute creative input during pre-production and storyboarding phases QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • Minimum 4 years professional experience editing videos in film, media, or digital content production • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro is a plus) • Strong sense of timing, pacing, visual storytelling, and audio integration • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Familiarity with YouTube formats, export settings, and best practices • Motion graphics or animation experience is an added advantage • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Keen eye for detail and narrative flow • Passion for African storytelling and youth-focused content
