Warehouse Supervisor

As a Decofurn Warehouse Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of stock into the warehouse and oversee daily operations of the warehouse floor, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods in line with company targets and service level expectations.This role requires strong leadership and organisational skills to ensure that all incoming inventory is processed correctly, stored appropriately, and accounted for. You will supervise the warehouse team, fulfil cycle count and stock take responsibilities, ensuring operational efficiency in line with company SOP.We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our Boksburg, Centurion, Fourways and Silverlakes Branches!Duties & ResponsibilitiesWarehouse OperationsEnsure the timely and accurate receipt of all incoming stock (excluding B-stock).Verify container numbers and cross-check documentation with Google Sheets.Inspect received stock to ensure it matches system records.Record and track all received stock in Google Sheets.Double-check stock accuracy before placement in designated warehouse locations.Supervise and coordinate all floor operations, including inbound operations, and support outbound operations by ensuring stock is neatly stored/staged and managed to ensure efficient order fulfilment.Ensure stock integrity is maintained at all times, and housekeeping standards maintained.Together with the floor ops team efficiently manage floor damage stock and ensure disciplines are maintained with regards to product handling.Lead, manage, and develop a team of warehouse floor staff, including supervisors/coordinators and forklift operators.Warehouse PlanningEnsure adequate space allocation for incoming stock.Organise stock efficiently, ensuring like items are stored together.Maintain an in-depth understanding of warehouse layout for effective stock management.Support showroom, website, delivery, and dispatch teams with stock-related queries.Support the management team on process improvements and projectsInventory ControlPrepare stock for counting and assist in overseeing the cycle count and stock-taking process.Ensure stock is counted accurately and discrepancies are recorded.Investigate and resolve variances with the responsible counters.Provide stock variance reports and resolutions to the Management.Employee SupervisionSupervise and lead the receiving and warehouse teams, ensuring fair treatment and high morale.Recruit and interview candidates for related vacancies.Monitor staff attendance and manage the electronic sign-in system.Adhere to timekeeping deadlines.Ensure compliance with timekeeping and absenteeism policies.Approve leave requests and issue justified disciplinary actions when necessary.Assign workloads efficiently to maintain operational effectiveness.Desired Experience & QualificationGrade 12 or equivalentRelevant diploma/degree in management and/or warehouse operations – AdvantageousMinimum 3 years’ experience in warehouse managementComputer literacy – Word, Excel, Google Sheets & OutlookStrong supervisory skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesSage Pastel experience –AdvantageousKnowledge/experience in the furniture industry – AdvantageousPackage & RemunerationRetirement and Risk BenefitsIndependent, trust-based work cultureFun cultural and social team days6-day working week in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentInterested?The team member we are looking must have the ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment and perform in a manner that maximizes profits.
