Web Analytics Specialist (GA4) — On-Demand Contract

Location: Cape Town, South Africa (Hybrid/on-site as required)Industry: Education & Public SectorEngagement: On-demand services over a 12-month period (call-off as needed)About the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced Senior Web Analytics Specialist to configure and optimise Google Analytics 4 (GA4), establish clear traffic and user-journey reporting, and produce actionable insight dashboards. You will assess the current analytics setup, make expert recommendations, and implement GA4 with robust governance. This is a capacity-on-call engagement — you’ll be engaged as needed across the 12-month contract term.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure and optimise Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (events, conversions, audiences, and data streams).Review and reconcile the current vs legacy analytics configurations.Translate business requirements into a defined measurement plan and key metrics.Provide a detailed estimation report (hours per deliverable) for the full scope of work.Build dashboards, reports, and user access controls (logins, roles, permissions).Automate monthly performance reports and distribute to relevant stakeholders.Integrate website and social media data into Power BI via web connectors.Implement a role hierarchy within GA4 (e.g., Super Admin, Admin, Analyst, Viewer) and access governance.Provide recommendations and documentation for long-term analytics maturity and SEO performance.Required Experience & Skills6+ years maintaining and optimising Google Analytics environments.2+ years experience configuring Google Search Console.4+ years using Power BI, Google Data Studio/Looker Studio, or similar analytics platforms.Strong technical understanding of SEO optimisation, web analytics, and data interpretation.Proven experience delivering:SEO ranking improvement reports, andAdvanced GA4 dashboards showing traffic, engagement, and conversion flows.Exceptional analytical, documentation, and communication skills.QualificationsMinimum: NQF Level 6 Diploma or higher in Digital Marketing, Multimedia, Web Development, Information Systems, or Systems Development.DeliverablesFully configured GA4 environment.Documented requirements review and effort estimation.Monthly analytics reports and automated dashboards.Power BI integration for website and social media analytics.Role hierarchy and access governance implemented in GA4.Knowledge transfer documentation for ongoing continuity.
