Job Description

Dear Applicants, One of our well known Client is hiring for a Welding Inspector role for the Oman Location. Please find the details below. The Welding Inspector will oversee welding quality during the fabrication of offshore structures (e.g., jackets, topsides) in an onshore yard. This critical QA/QC role ensures all welds meet international standards, project specs, and safety norms before offshore deployment.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld visual inspections of joints, materials, and equipment.Verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).Supervise Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods including RT, UT, MT, PT; interpret results against acceptance criteria.Review fabrication drawings, weld maps, and symbols for compliance with codes like AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API RP 2A.Document inspections, generate reports, and maintain traceability records (e.g., weld logs, NDT reports).Coordinate with fabrication supervisors, engineers, and third-party inspectors to resolve non-conformances.Ensure HSE compliance during welding operations, including PPE, gas testing, and fire watch.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.Experience: Minimum 8+ years as Welding Inspector, with proven expertise in offshore structures fabrication at onshore yards.Mandatory Certifications:CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 (Certified Welding Inspector).NDT Level II (minimum in RT, UT, MT, PT).CBT Passed (computer-based test for offshore qualification).Familiarity with ISO 3834, EN 1090, or equivalent welding quality standards.
