NSB Omega is searching for a Wellsite Geologist for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.Assignment DescriptionKey Responsibilities:We are seeking an experienced Offshore Wellsite Geologist to support drilling operations by ensuring accurate geological data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role serves as a critical link between the offshore drilling team and the onshore geoscience group, ensuring alignment with geological objectives throughout the drilling process.Key Responsibilities Geological Data Analysis:Collect and analyze drill cuttingsRecord detailed lithological descriptionsMonitor mud returns and gas levelsIdentify formation tops and assess reservoir quality Reporting:Prepare and submit daily geological reports and striplogsDeliver comprehensive end-of-well reportsEnsure timely transfer of all data and reports to the onshore team Communication & Coordination:Maintain consistent communication with the onshore operations geologistParticipate in daily morning callsCollaborate with mudlogging service providers and offshore drilling personnelQualifications Minimum 15 years of offshore experience in wellsite geology Eligible for registration as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with PEGNL Software experience in Microsoft Office, Wellview, Powerlog and Petrel Current and valid safety certifications, including:H2S AliveBasic Survival Training (BST)WHMISFirst AidIWCF Well ControlWork Schedule Rotational offshore schedule based on drilling operations Maximum of 21 consecutive days offshore 12-hour shiftsDuration1 Year(With Possibility of Extension)LocationSt. John's, NL
