Democratic Partnership for a Framework Climate Change Bill for Jamaica The Democratic Partnership for a Framework Climate Change Bill for Jamaica is a WFD managed programme supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

This 7-month programme seeks to provide technical assistance, legal support and facilitate stakeholder consultations to support the Climate Change Branch (CCB) within the Ministry of Economic Growth and JobCreation (MEGJC) of Jamaica to develop climate change framework legislation, that will,enable Jamaica to achieve their national decarbonisation and climate adaptation goals by enshrining ambitious, long-term targets in legislation. set the long-term direction of climate strategy to guide markets in line with long-term national climate change objectives. provide commitment to continuity of climate objectives across political mandates.

create and/or strengthen existing mechanisms (institutions and processes) for the formulation and implementation of climate change policy. Role Overview With Key ResponsibilitiesBased in Kingston, Jamaica the Programme Manager will beWFD’s most senior representative on the ground. They will lead and coordinatekey national and international events and actively engage in building solidrelationships with stakeholders, partners, and with the donor. Reporting to and supported by WFD’s Senior ProgrammeManager based at our headquarters, the Programme Manager will be responsiblefor overseeing and managing the full programme cycle from inception through tofinal evaluation.

In addition, they will supervise the work delivered by theconsultants and work closely with teams in London to ensure programmeactivities are in line with the donor requirements and WFD’s operationalprocedures. About You - We Are Looking For The FollowingFirst-hand experience of designing, implementing and managing a portfolio of programmes - minimum 2 years’ experience. In-depth political professional and sectoral knowledge of Jamaica Exceptional project and programme management skills Proposal development, contracting, procurement, grant management, donor compliance, financial management and control skills Experience in; risk management, proposal development, contracting, procurement, grant management, donor compliance, financial scrutiny, research/analysis, and reporting.

Experience using programme management systems and tools. Intermediate level Microsoft suite skills. Experience organising and managing high profile and complex events. Senior stakeholder analysis, development and management skills Excellent level of written and oral communication skills. Experience producing accurate briefing documents and communications.
