We champion every stage of the employee experience with precision, empathy, and integrityâfrom onboarding to offboarding, and everything in between. đ» RoleWeâre looking for a People Operations Coordinator to lead onboarding and support the day-to-day workflows that shape the employee experience at Whatnot. This is a great entry point for someone whoâs excited to build a strong foundation in People Opsâand finds joy in making the little things feel seamless and human.
Youâll handle everything from pre-hire setup to Day 1 logistics, partner with teams like IT, Legal, People Business Partners, and Recruiting, and be a go-to for employees through our People Helpdesk. If youâre organized, detail-oriented, and love bringing calm to busy momentsâespecially behind the scenesâyouâll thrive here. What You'll DoOwn onboarding from start to finish. Youâll manage all the moving piecesâfrom welcome emails and I-9 verifications to shipping swag and coordinating with IT to get laptops delivered on time. Support in-person onboarding moments.
While weâre a remote team, youâll help coordinate any onboarding-related travel and activities at our LA hub, in partnership with the Talent Development team. Partner with teams across the business. Youâll collaborate with People, Finance, IT, Legal, and other departments to support employee processes throughout the full lifecycleâfrom onboarding to offboarding and everything in between. Keep our systems up to date. Youâll help with data entry in Workday, making sure employee records stay accurate for job changes, departures, and one-time payments. Handle compliance logistics.
Youâll process unemployment and workersâ comp claims, track related documentation, and help us stay audit-ready at all times. Be a go-to for employee questions. Through our People Ops Helpdesk, youâll answer Tier 1 questions and help point folks in the right direction when they need more support. Help us stay organized and audit-ready. Youâll keep an eye on data accuracy, support compliance audits, and make sure important documentation doesnât slip through the cracks. Jump in on People Ops projects.
Whether itâs refreshing content in Slab or helping with employee experience programs, youâll support projects that make our team run smoother. Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our Los Angeles hub. đ YouAboutCurious about who thrives at Whatnot? As our next People Operations Coordinator: Youâve got 1+ years of experience in People Ops, HR coordination, or a similar roleâideally in a fast-paced or remote-first environment. Bonus points if youâve supported onboarding.
You have hands-on experience with Workday and are comfortable navigating employee records, data entry, and basic workflows. Youâre comfortable with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Zendesk, Navan, and Slab or Notionâor excited to learn your way around them quickly. Youâre organized, proactive, and detail-obsessed, but flexible enough to roll with changing priorities. You communicate clearly and kindly, especially over Slack and emailâyou know how to make people feel seen, even when things are moving fast. Youâre curious and eager to learn, with a strong sense of ownership over your work.
Youâre great at managing tasks independently, but you love working on a team that jumps in to help each other out. You like making things betterâwhether itâs fixing a broken process or updating a help doc, you notice the small stuff and care enough to improve it.
