Job Title: Windows System EngineerExperience: 7+ YearsLocation: Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, HyderabadJob DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Windows System Engineer (Disaster Recovery) to design, implement, and maintain robust business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) solutions across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows system administration, failover recovery, and infrastructure resiliency, along with a solid understanding of networking, database health checks, load balancing, and monitoring tools like Splunk.You will ensure systems meet RTO/RPO objectives and maintain high availability through proactive DR planning, testing, and automation.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity solutions for critical infrastructure. Conduct and document failover and recovery tests for servers, applications, and databases. Perform DB sanity checks post-failover to validate data integrity and system health. Manage and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) for DR readiness. Collaborate with networking teams to ensure load balancer configurations (F5 / Citrix / Azure Load Balancer) support DR strategies. Define, monitor, and achieve RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) targets. Configure and maintain replication, clustering, and backup mechanisms. Monitor system performance, availability, and logs using Splunk and other monitoring tools. Develop and maintain DR runbooks, documentation, and SOPs. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-recovery validation. Support change management and patching in coordination with infrastructure teams. Technical SkillsCore Infrastructure:Windows Server Administration (2016/2019/2022) Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy High availability, clustering, and failover mechanisms Disaster Recovery & BackupDR planning, replication (Hyper-V Replica, Azure Site Recovery, or similar) Backup solutions: Veeam / Commvault / Azure Backup Failover and restoration testing Networking & Load BalancingNetwork connectivity and routing fundamentals Load balancers: F5, Citrix ADC, or Azure Load Balancer Firewall and VPN configuration basics Monitoring & AutomationSplunk / SolarWinds / SCOM for system and log monitoring PowerShell / Python scripting for automation and validation tasks Database & Application ChecksDB sanity verification post-DR (SQL Server preferred) Application-level failover coordination Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Certifications preferred:Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator Associate ITIL Foundation / DR Specialist certification Soft SkillsStrong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure during DR events and incident recovery. Cross-functional collaboration with infrastructure, DB, and network teams.
