In cooperation with the department and faculty, the Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and promoting Work Experience programs, facilitating learning and counseling students to bridge their entry in to the workplace, for managing the learning process, which occurs during a succession of work terms, and for the general development and administration of Work Experience programs.The Coordinator is also accountable to both lead and participate in team-based projects as a collaborative means to draw on skill synergy and achieve department objectives.This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week.ResponsibilitiesDevelop Employer RelationsPro-actively market programs and promote the university through presentations and participation in trade shows, events, and other marketing venues.Identify prospective employers who provide suitable learning experiences, evaluation and supervision; negotiate student placements.Assist employers to evaluate present and future human resources requirements.Develop appropriate job descriptions, job specifications and employer profiles for student information.Build and maintain employer database to record participation and target marketing effectiveness.Develop and maintain contact with professional organizations to increase awareness of programs.Encourage employer participation as guest speakers, tours, equipment and scholarship donations.Facilitate Student Learning & CoachingDevelop course outlines, materials, instructional technology and interactive techniques to support and promote learning, employability and job creation.Liaise with others to ensure that student curriculum development and learning application requirements are met.Provide one-on-one consultation and assist students in solving employment-related issues. Monitor individual student progress and facilitate student reflective.Communicate expectations and policies to students, and maintain quality control. Mediate any student/employer difficulties, complete evaluations, and discuss with faculty. Lead and/or participate in team-based projects and committees.Design, Implement & Evaluate ProgramsConsult with stakeholders to develop, implement and assess strategic and instructional planning for delivery of Work Experience programs.Build partnerships with program faculty to assess and interpret academic needs, identify marketable student skills, develop marketing strategy, and maintain a unified approach.Build relationships with Work Experience students to assess their needs, gain input into program development and provide suitable learning experiences and services.Review available resources, research and acquire resources to support student learning and employability.Monitor current student progress in all phases of the program, including academic eligibility to continue in the program, completion of program requirements, and alumni outcomes where possible.Continually evaluate student feedback, take corrective action and restructure plans as required.Design and implement strategies to market program and acquire employer assessment of programs/services.Pro-actively participate in academic program Advisory Committees to assess and develop program outcomes.QualificationsBachelor degree or equivalent, combined with 3 – 5 years of related experience in marketing, human resources or career developmentPrevious work experience education, background in education or career counseling would be an assetAdvanced computer skills including word processing, instructional technology, and database managementStrong marketing, customer service and persuasive skillsSelf-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independentlyExcellent communication skills including formal presentationsStrong time management, organizational ability and attention to detail.Ability to problem-solve with diplomacy and tactStrong leader qualities, ability to gain confidence and cooperation at various levels of authority including CEO, Deans, faculty, and studentsKnowledge of the Canadian labour market and workplace expectationsMust hold a valid driver’s license and access to own vehicleSalary: $64,264.20 - $81,299.40 per annumClosing Date: November 13, 2025A cover letter and resume should be submitted in one .pdf document.
