WWTP Engineer

Arcadis are seeking a WWTP Engineer to support day to day operations at a large pharmaceutical facility in Cork The WTTP Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the water treatment plant on a daily basis. This role involves monitoring plant performance, troubleshooting operational issues, maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and optimize daily operations of the water treatment plant, including chemical dosing, filtration, and disinfection processes.Conduct routine inspections and performance checks on equipment and systems.Respond to operational issues and emergencies, providing timely technical support and resolution.Maintain accurate records of plant performance, maintenance activities, and compliance data.Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.Ensure compliance with local and national environmental and safety regulations.Participate in audits, inspections, and reporting activities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.Provide training and guidance to plant operators and junior staff.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.Experience in water treatment plant operations or similar industrial environment.Strong understanding of water treatment processes and technologies.Familiarity with SCADA systems and process control instrumentation.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Desirable Skills:Experience with asset management systems (e.g., CMMS).Certification in water treatment operations (e.g., IWTO, EPA).Project management experience.Interested parties should forward a copy of their CV through the link below or contact Fergal Walshe via LinkedIn for more information regarding the opportunity
