Join our team of People-Focused Problem Solvers and build a career where your contributions truly make a difference!The Yard Person will work with the local branch to maintain the Yard and equipment as well as the organization and inventory management of equipment in the yard, respond to customer enquiries and provide exceptional customer service.Key Responsibilities:Maintain accurate location of equipment in databaseMaintain records of all transactions in the yardWash, clean and detail equipment as neededClean work area and toolsInspect equipment upon arrival and prior to departure from yard. Ensure that rental units leaving and returning have 360’s completed and that all damages, fuel level and cleanliness of machines are reported to rental coordinators for billing purposesPrepare and stage equipment in yardLoad/unload equipment on trailerSpotting Heavy Machinery operatorsProvide exceptional customer serviceGeneral shop maintenance duties such as cleaning and minor building repairsGeneral yard maintenance duties such as maintaining grounds, snow removal and weed controlAssist in shipping and receiving and parts inventory, as neededOther related duties, as assigned, including but not limited to:Deliver compact construction equipment using truck and trailer (1 ton), as neededDelivering and picking up parts throughout the Edmonton area, as neededEmploy workplace health and safety practices consistentlyKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to operate forklifts, compact construction equipment, and pallet jacks in indoor and outdoor environments (training will be provided)Familiarity with Compact Construction equipment a plusStrong computer skills with high attention to detailAbility to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentAbility to maintain a positive attitudeAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to drive in variable road conditions, including pulling trailers between vendors and customer job sitesAbility to drive a ½ ton to a 1-ton truckPhysical exertion is required, including, but not limited to walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 poundsAbility and willingness to work in environments with frequent exposure to the elementsValid driver license required and clean driving recordTraining, Education and Experience:1-2 years of work experience in an Industrial environment using or organizing equipmentExperience operating equipment would be an assetExperience with ERP and equipment tracking apps is beneficialExperience driving in variable road conditionsDriving experience of ½ ton to a 1-ton trucks is considered an assetHigh school diplomaCompensation Package:Hourly wage up to $ 25.47 depending on experience and qualifications, along with vacation, extended benefits, and an RRSP matching planValues:Build trust – with customers and each otherBe a team player – commit to working together to winBe customer-focused – “wow” customers so they become raving fansSupport community – care for our people, our community and our planetDeliver results – know what you need to do and get it doneWorking Conditions: The Yard Person is based out of the Edmonton branch and works 40 hours on average per week Monday to Friday.
