Camelon first offender moved car to avoid parking ticket and got done for drink driving

Unfortunately Sarah Mills was three times over the legal drink driving limit and travelling in the dark with no lights on, which drew the attention of police officers on patrol. Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, Mills, 22, had admitted drink driving on Meeks Road, Falkirk on August 31. She gave a reading of 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 22 microgrammes. Lynn Swan, defence solicitor, said: “The irony of this is she was trying to move the car to avoid a parking ticket.” Sheriff Krista Johnston said: “I’m always disappointed to see young people become involved in the court, but there’s an opportunity for support for you.” She placed first offender Mills, 21 Fairlie Street, Camelon, on a structured deferred sentence for three months to February 19 next year and banned her from driving for 12 months.
