Coco Gauff makes unexpected response to help out tennis influencer on her way to Paris Masters

Coco Gauff unexpectedly commented on a tennis influencer's post as the latter headed to the Paris Masters to watch the men compete. Gauff came straight from winning the Wuhan Open title, defeating Jessica Pegula in the finals. Coco Gauff won her second Major title at the 2025 French Open and reached the finals of the three biggest clay court tournaments (Roland Garros, Italian Open, and Madrid Open) in the same year. She became the first US woman to achieve so since Serena Williams in 2015. The 21-year-old ended her Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows runs, exiting in the first and fourth rounds, respectively. Following that, Gauff played at the China Open, reaching the semifinals, and then won the Wuhan Open title, the first American to do so since Venus Williams in 2015. Recently, she brightened up a tennis fan's day by unexpectedly commenting on her TikTok post, as the latter headed to the Paris Masters. A fan named Caitlin posted a video of herself on an airplane, pretending that she would get a comment from a tennis player. Her in-video text read:"On a flight to Paris for the masters, pretend a tennis player had commented on this video"View on TikTokGauff actually dropped two comments on her post, writing:"Hola""Or I guess I should say bonjour"The fan shared the screenshot on her X handle and expressed shock, captioning:"Good morning to me???"Gauff will next be in contention at the year-end Championships, that is, the WTA Finals, scheduled to begin on November 1, 2025. Following the Wuhan Open, she received praise from tennis titan and 18-time Grand Slam winner, Martina Navratilova, who compared one of her attributes with Novak Djokovic's and also noted which one of her on-court skills could be her biggest weapon. "She’s played nine hard-court finals and won them all. That’s crazy. One of those was last year in Riyadh, so look out if she gets rolling again. Her backhand is like Djokovic’s -- maybe with even more power. It’s money," she said in an interview with WTA Tennis. "When the serve is happening, it’s a real weapon, and I’m glad she’s figuring that out. Her movement is better than anybody else. She can always depend on that. It’s the one thing fully under her control. She knows she can run and defend no matter what. Then she manages the rest. When she comes forward, she has a very good volley and it’s hard to get the ball past her. She just won in Wuhan, so she should be confident," Navratilova added while opining on Gauff's year-end title chances. Coco Gauff won her first Major title at the 2023 US Open and triumphed at the 2024 WTA Finals as well.
