Ghana Army to conduct live firing exercise to test military readiness against external threats

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that it will conduct a live-firing exercise at its training camp in Bundase, Accra, as part of what it describes as a Land Combat Firepower Demonstration Exercise. According to the security agency, the firing exercise is intended to test the military’s readiness in defending the country and its borders in the event of external attacks. GAF cautioned that live ammunition and other military equipment will be used during the drill, urging residents living near the training camp to stay away from the area and its surroundings. “The Exercise will involve the use of live ammunition, explosives and heavy military equipment accompanied by loud sounds and visible flashes. The public is therefore advised to stay away from the training area and its surroundings during this period,” the statement continued.
