Kevin Costner Rumored To Star As Bill Clinton In Upcoming Dramatic Series ‘United’

After his exit from Yellowstone, Kevin Costner is jumping right back on the saddle. The actor is reportedly in talks to play former United States President Bill Clinton in the upcoming political drama, United. The series hails from Night Hunter creator David Raymond in collaboration with the United Nations, per Deadline. Actor Chukwudi Iwuji is also in talks to star opposite Costner as UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. The political drama will center the United Nations’ humanitarian work, with the first season in particular focused on the United Nations’ 1999 mission to East Timor. Deadline notes United is expected to be an ongoing series that will dramatize several of the organization’s international missions in pursuit of spreading peace. Costner will executive produce the series alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Clinton played a central role in deescalating tension in East Timor and helping the nation secure independence from Indonesia after suffering devastating violence for years. United marks Costner’s latest project since he directed, wrote and starred in the three-part Western Horizon: An American Saga, which he personally financed. This also marks Costner’s first television series since exiting Taylor Sheridan’s award-winning drama Yellowstone. Costner famously exited the series before it concluded, claiming the show’s continued production delays were beginning to conflict with his other projects. His character, John Dutton, was promptly killed off once the show eventually returned with the final batch of episodes. Costner received a Golden Globe in 2023 for his performance as the rancher. United is expected to begin filming in Atlanta and Spain next year.
