Asked about the ongoing power squabble within Tata Trusts Mathew termed the infighting a small difference of opinion asserting that these are mere side-shows which will not have any impact on a gigantic entity like the Tata Group conglomerate. A small bit of difference of opinion etc will happen during every transition but the house of Tatas is so big and strong that these are side shows.
Responding to a query about how he views he legacy of late Ratan Tata and the Tata family moving forward on the late Tata Groups chairmans first death anniversary the biographer asserted that a Tata must always head Tata Trusts-- the majority shareholder of Tata Sons-- the holding company of the Tata Group.
Tata Trusts according to me should always have a Tata at its head. Theres no doubt regarding it because it is a trust of the Tatas meant to perpetuate the goals which these great personalities had envisioned the author told news agency PTI.

When pointed out that the matter has reached the government with the top brass of Tata Trusts and Tata Sons meeting Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman earlier this week Mathew said That is all right but nothing is going to happen to the group.
Mathew admitted that these small differences shouldnt have been public but I think itll get resolved without much of a problem.
On whether the current crop of Tata Group leaders have been able carry forward the legacy of Ratan Tata Mathew hailed Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran stating that he is completely devoted to Tata Groups core ideals especially what Mr Ratan Tata stood for.
