Telangana Govt Approves Land Acquisition for Adilabad Airport Development

Hyderabad: The State government has approved of acquiring 700 acres of land in Adilabad district to develop a joint user airfield at Adilabad. The approval, issued through G.O. Ms. No. 73 by the Transport, Roads & Buildings (Airports) Department, marks a key step in the state’s initiative to enhance regional air connectivity.The Airports Authority of India (AAI) was earlier appointed as the consultant to prepare the Techno Economic Feasibility Reports (TEFRs) for six proposed regional airports in Telangana. The feasibility study submitted by AAI identified Adilabad as one of the viable locations for airport development, subject to necessary clearances.Following recommendations from AAI and the state’s Aviation Directorate, the government directed the District Collector of Adilabad to acquire the required land and proceed with the development process.
