The wait is finally over as a gripping new series of Trigger Point lands on ITV this weekend. Viewers of the programme will see Vicky McClure return to her role as Lana Washington, who appears to be battling to handle everything that has happened to her over the years. Lana, alongside the remainder of her bomb-disposal unit, will face significant challenges in the upcoming episodes as they rapidly realise one individual is seeking vengeance. Whilst one person harbours a dark grudge and is pursuing specific targets, the unit finds itself racing against time to guarantee public safety. New to the cast this year is Jason Flemyng , who plays Steven Wyles in the ITV programme, someone who seems thoroughly frustrated with the establishment, reports the Express . Discussing his character with Reachplc before the series aired, the actor explained: "The truth is, he's another little man that's fighting the system and has been hard done by. "In his head, the catalyst system and profit before people, he's had enough and he takes retribution. "He's not without reason, and Vicky's character isn't battling him politically or emotionally; it's just that he's breaking the law and doing something that puts other people in danger. So, that's the essence of their relationship, I think." Discussing his experience of joining the programme, Jason expressed only admiration, emphasising what an enjoyable experience he had throughout filming. He enthused: "I loved it! It was amazing, Jamie (Donoghue) and Chas Bain who shot it, have upped the ante and created something that looks really filmic and beautiful and I was really excited to be a part of it. I had a great time!" Alongside Jason and Vicky in series three, viewers will also welcome back Eric Shango, Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson and Maanuv Thiara. Discussing what fans can anticipate this series, Vicky hinted at drama ahead. She remarked: "I think you're going to really enjoy their performances. "The team is back, we're more connected than ever, the explosive moments are coming thick and fast. You'll see me running a lot, which is rare. "I just know that people are going to go, 'wow'. I mean, even from the trailer that we've put out. I'm really happy to brag about it, which is a rarity." Trigger Point Season 3 premieres Sunday, 26th October 2025 at 9pm on ITV1 and STV, with the full series available to stream on ITVX and STV Player.
