Tripura AIDS Control Society Honoured as ‘Best Performing State’ at National Review - Northeast Today

Agartala, November 13, 2025: Tripura has been recognized as the Best Performing State in the national review conducted by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Tripura State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) received the prestigious award during a central ceremony held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on November 12, 2025. The accolade was presented by Dr. Chinmayee Das, a senior official from the Union Health Ministry, to two representatives of TSACS. The recognition highlights Tripura’s exemplary performance across key health indicators, particularly in the delivery of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) services to HIV-positive patients. Tripura earned its place in the ‘Green Zone’ of NACO’s performance index by excelling in several critical areas: Ensuring comprehensive ART treatment for all registered HIV-positive individuals; Facilitating their integration into a healthy and dignified life; Linking patients with various state-run social pension schemes and welfare benefits; and Maintaining consistent follow-up and support through Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres (ICTCs). The National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) evaluates states on ten performance parameters, including the transition from ICTC to ART services, adherence to treatment protocols, and continuity of care. Tripura’s consistent efforts in meeting these benchmarks have set a national example. State officials noted that the award reaffirms the government’s commitment to providing free and accessible support to people living with HIV/AIDS, and reflects the success of its inclusive health and welfare initiatives.
