Comment on Jama Taqseem praised for exposing the double standard: Why sons moving out is unacceptable, but daughters leaving in-laws is celebrated? by SV388 한국

In the latest episode of Jama Taqseem on Hum TV, the drama highlighted a major family dynamic issue: why are sons leaving their parental homes met with sadness and disapproval, while daughters leaving their in-laws is celebrated? This stark contrast in reactions has stirred up important conversations about gender roles and societal expectations. In today’s episode, Qais, the youngest son, decides to move out with his wife, Laila, after facing challenges adjusting to his family’s strict rules. His decision, though a step toward independence, causes deep sadness in his parents. In traditional family setups, sons are often seen as the pillars of the family who should stay and continue the family legacy. So, when a son moves out, it’s perceived as a loss—not only emotionally but also socially. On the other hand, when a daughter moves out, particularly from her in-laws’ home, it’s viewed as a positive, empowering move. In the drama, the sister’s husband points out the contradiction: when the daughter left her husband’s family to live independently, her parents celebrated her newfound freedom. But when the sons do the same, their parents are upset. This difference in reaction reveals how society views women and men differently. Women are often expected to leave their parents’ home when they marry, and their independence is celebrated. Sons, however, are expected to stay close to home, continue the family legacy, and provide for the household. Any move towards independence is seen as a break from family duties. These contrasting expectations are rooted in cultural norms where men are supposed to remain in the family home, and women are expected to start new lives with their husbands. The double standard raises an important question: why is independence celebrated for daughters but frowned upon for sons? In a world that increasingly values personal growth, it’s important to question why these gendered expectations still dominate. Both sons and daughters should have the freedom to choose what’s best for them without facing societal judgment. Viewers have praised Jama Taqseem for tackling this sensitive issue head-on. One viewer wrote, “Finally, a drama that shows the unfairness in how society treats sons and daughters. This episode makes us question our outdated views on family dynamics.” Another commented, “I love how Jama Taqseem is starting conversations that we usually avoid. Sons leaving their parents’ home should be treated the same as daughters leaving theirs.” Through this thought-provoking storyline, Jama Taqseem continues to push boundaries and challenge outdated norms, making it not only a popular show but also a conversation starter on gender equality.

Bihar polls: NDA under CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership set for ‘record-breaking’ win, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the National Democratic alliance under the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will script a “record-breaking” victory in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. This was the first time that the prime minister endorsed the Janata Dal (United) chief as the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate. “In the last assembly polls in Gujarat, where the party has been in power for 30 years, all previous records were broken,” Modi said at a rally in Samastipur. “Similar was the case in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. I am confident that in Bihar, too, under Nitish Kumar, the NDA will break all previous records.” The NDA in Bihar comprises the JD(U), the BJP, Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The Opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance comprises the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress, Pashupati Kumar Paras’ Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party, the Vikassheel Insaan Party, the Indian Inclusive Party and three Left parties – Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), Communist Party of India and Communist Party of India (Marxist). The Assembly polls are due to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, while the votes will be counted on November 14. Earlier in the day, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP did not want to make Kumar the chief minister again, ANI reported. The RJD leader was referring to Shah’s October 17 statement when he said that while the NDA was contesting the elections under Kumar’s leadership, the decision about the next chief minister would be taken after the polls. Yadav was named as the Mahagathbandan’s chief ministerial candidate on Thursday. ‘Top leaders of RJD, Congress out on bail’ Modi on Friday also said that Bihar will not repose its trust in the RJD or the Congress as most of their top leaders are out on bail in alleged corruption cases. Alluding to the Yadav family in Bihar, the prime minister said: “The RJD family is the most corrupt one in Bihar. Most of its members are out on bail.” Similarly, alluding to the Gandhi family in the Congress, Modi said that it is the “most corrupt family in the country”. “Most of the members of this family too are on bail,” the prime minister said at another rally in Begusarai. “Bihar does not trust such people.” Modi also took a swipe at the uncertainty surrounding the Mahagathbandhan’s seat-sharing agreement. He alleged that the RJD, despite not winning any election the past two decades, ditched the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Congress. In the 2020 Assembly polls, the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan ended up with an identical vote share at 37.2%. However, the NDA returned to power in Bihar with a slender majority, winning 125 seats in the 243-member state Assembly. The Opposition bagged 110 seats. The RJD, led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, emerged as the single-largest party with 75 seats but still lost the election. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which the Mahagathbandhan fought together, the RJD won four of the total 40 parliamentary constituencies, while the Congress clinched three and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) managed to bag two seats. The NDA had won 30 seats.

Businessman, 61, faces murder probe after 'stabbing his wife to death' following 'girls' trip' to Turkey

A businessman is facing a murder investigation after his 'beautiful, strong, fearless' wife was stabbed to death just two weeks after she returned from a holiday with a female friend in Turkey. Gavin Shaw, 61, was arrested after Michele Kennedy was attacked with a kitchen knife during a row at a house in Warrington, Cheshire earlier this month. Described as a 'larger-than-life character' by her grieving family, 55-year-old Ms Kennedy worked as a security guard for G4S. She had previously called Shaw a 'wonderful husband' and 'the best' in Facebook posts. Ms Kennedy reportedly managed to make her way to the street following the assault but collapsed outside. She was taken to Aintree Hospital by paramedics in a critical condition and died five days later despite efforts to save her. Shaw was initially charged with attempted murder and was remanded in custody to face trial following a court hearing ten days ago at Warrington magistrates court. He is currently being investigated for murder. Today Ms Kennedy's devastated family paid tribute to the victim, who has worked for employers including train operators MerseyRail and Avanti and the Creamfields Music Festival. She had recently been holidaying at a hotel in Marmaris with a female friend and was still posting pictures of her trip three days before the fatal assault. In a statement they said: 'Michele was a much-loved daughter, mother, sister, auntie and nana. 'She was a larger-than-life character who would leave a lasting impression on all that met her, who would help anyone, was beautiful, strong, fearless and one of a kind. 'The loss of her life has left a massive hole in our family, and we know that her friends and colleagues who were involved in her life will feel the same. 'We would like to offer our extended thanks to all the emergency services that attended the scene and any kind person that tried to help. We will miss her very much.' Shaw, who runs a tiling business, is thought to have wed Ms Kennedy in 2016. She would post pictures of the beaming couple on Facebook plus photographs of flowers he had bought for her. One message she posted read: 'I do love him, the best xxx.' A picture of Shaw on holiday showed him with a tattoo on his right arm saying: 'Michele.' On October 13 at 4pm, Cheshire Police received multiple reports of an incident at a residential address on Manchester Road, Woolston. They attended to find Ms Kennedy seriously ill in the street as paramedics and passers-by tried to help her. A police spokesman said: 'She was taken to Aintree hospital but despite the best efforts of all those involved, Michele Kennedy passed away on Saturday 18 October. 'Her family are currently being supported by specially trained officers. 'Preliminary results from a Home Office post-mortem examination have indicated that Michele died as a result of stab wounds. 'A murder investigation into her death has been launched and a 61-year-old man remains in custody.' Shaw, of Manchester Road in Woolston, appeared in court on October 15 wearing a grey jumper. He confirmed his full name, date of birth, and address but was not asked to enter a plea. He is next due before Liverpool Crown Court on November 11.

A House of Dynamite stars discuss Netflix's terrifyingly plausible nuclear thriller "The film is really well researched, down to a documentary level of detail"

The end of the world is a familiar scenario on screen – aliens obliterating the White House, Apes rising to the top of the food chain, you know the drill. But you've probably never seen an end-of-the-world movie quite like A House of Dynamite. Set across the 19 minutes that follow the detection of a rogue nuclear missile heading towards US soil, it's a terrifyingly plausible and meticulously researched account of how the world could forever change in a matter of minutes. Looping around, Rashomon-style, to show the house of cards collapse at multiple different levels of US Strategic Command, it features a star-studded cast, including Rebecca Ferguson, Idris Elba, Anthony Ramos and Tracy Letts. Ferguson plays Captain Olivia Walker, whose team attempts to coordinate countermeasures from within the bowels of the White House. For the Dune star, the film shines a very real spotlight on the precarious place the world finds itself in, thanks to nuclear armament. "I think it's just too much to fathom sometimes," Ferguson tells GamesRadar+. "And I think the film is going, 'Hey, let's talk about this. Do we think this is correct? Do we think we should use nuclear warheads to keep the peace? Do we think that the President, or any President, or any head of state should be able to press a button and activate a nuclear war? Isn't that a bit weird?'" Directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Noah Oppenheim, a key element of the film's power is that what you see is about as close to a fly-on-the-wall perspective of how a nuclear attack would play out as most of us are likely to get. "What you realize is that the piece is really well researched, I mean, down to a documentary level of detail by the time it got to us," says co-star Tracy Letts, who plays Air Force General Anthony Brady. "Noah already knew a lot about the topic before he ever even wrote it, but then it was vetted and revetted by any number of experts in the field, people who actually held these positions. So all the language was accurate, all the protocols were accurate." That verisimilitude extended to the film's sets – many reconstructions of real situation rooms. "Kathryn said they were allowed into the situation room for a couple of minutes, but they weren't allowed to take any pictures," Ferguson says. "So Jeremy [Hindle], who is the production designer, I don't know how he did it, he would memorize or document everything, because apparently it's down like the carpet, the color, the fabric, the wallpaper, the wooden benches. Everything was as accurate as you could be." For Ferguson and Letts, the film serves as a dire warning: a nation like the US can have the most advanced nuclear deterrent system in the world, but no such system is foolproof when humans are involved. "That is terrifying, because now we understand the power that comes with nuclear weapons and the fact that one person has the possibility of activating a nuclear war," Ferguson says. "I mean, okay, what do you do with that? I mean, how is that an option? We retaliate with nukes. I mean, something needs to be done." A House of Dynamite streams on Netflix from 24 October. Pokemon Legends: Z-A sells over 5.8 million copies in its first week, cementing the real-time RPG as a success even if it's still lagging behind Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends Z-A has already sold 5.8 million copies in its first week, but it's not quite as big as Arceus. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is the best thing to happen to Pokemon in years if you ask me, a lapsed fan of the series, and it did well enough that Nintendo followed it up with the latest game in the series, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which once again changes up the formula of the iconic RPG series. Pokemon was always going to be successful regardless, (Scarlet and Violet selling 27.15 million despite being a mess at launch is enough to prove that), but Legends Z-A has had an impressive first week. The Pokemon Company announced in a press release (translated by Genki_JPN on Twitter) that in its first week, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has already sold 5.8 million copies, with about half of those sales coming from the Switch 2 edition (no doubt helped by the Pokemon Legends Z-A Switch 2 bundle). This will immediately put it into the echelon of best-selling Switch 2 games (Mario Kart World sold about 5.6 million in its first month according to Nintendo), and considering it is estimated that it only needs to sell 200k units to break even, I'm sure Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are happy. However, it actually underperformed compared to the last Legends game, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus selling 6.5 million in its first week, as well as reviewing better. While not a massive difference, there could definitely be a number of contributing factors to this, whether it be a bad taste left in players mouths over Scarlet and Violet, some waiting to get a Switch 2 instead of picking up the Switch version, or simply they're not interested in the new combat system. Regardless, it's still a sales number that no one (well, maybe except for Square Enix) would be unhappy with. Art the Clown actor gives promising update on Terrifier 4, saying although the director is keeping certain plot points hidden, the ending is "batsh** insane"

Despite being kept in the dark just like us fans, Art the Clown star David Howard Thornton has given a promising update on Terrifier 4, which is still in the early development stage, with director Damien Leone currently penning the script. "I’m very excited, but I don’t know a whole lot, because this time around Damien has been keeping everything very close to his vest about what’s happening in the script," Thornton tells Slasher Radio. Thornton has played Art the Clown in all three official Terrifier movies, and is set to reprise the role of the serial killer entity for number 4. "He just goes, 'Oh yeah, you're gonna love the origin story, Dave. You’re gonna love how we do it,'" said Thornton of Damien Leone. "And he said also, 'The finale is bat-shit insane. You’re gonna have a lot of fun with that.' Other than that, I don’t know, but that makes me excited." Leone must be cooking up something terrifying indeed, as it's unusual for the director not to let his stars, Thornton, final girl Lauren Lavera, and Victoria's Samantha Scaffidi, see the script due to them being with the franchise the whole way. Thornton explained, "In the past, when he’s been writing the other scripts, he's been consulting us the whole entire time, running ideas by us. This time, he’s been pretty much silent." Nevertheless, Thornton says he has "so much faith" in the director. From what Leone has teased previously, we know that Terrifier 4 will finally shed some light on Art's origins. However, this might also mark the end for the killer jester. Leone has said that Terrifier 4 may be the last movie in the franchise, despite telling GamesRadar+ that it may take more than one movie to finish Art’s story. When asked whether he thinks the fourth installment will bring the franchise to an end, Thornton said, "I feel like this might be the finale of this story arc that [Leone]’s going with for right now and might give it a rest for a few years and might return later on to it. I have no idea, but I’m excited nonetheless." Terrifier 4 does not have a release date. Child allegedly responsible for stabbing five-year-old girl in the HEAD at St Philomena's primary school in Moree is 'allowed to return' - as disturbing photo emerges of the aftermath

The mother of a five-year-old girl who was allegedly stabbed in the head by a classmate at a primary school has been left furious after the child was allowed to return to school grounds. Eliza, whose daughter attends St Philomena's School in Moree, northern NSW, claims her little girl was 'covered in blood' after being attacked with a pencil in the classroom on September 17. She told Daily Mail her daughter has been left so traumatised by the ordeal - which landed her in hospital - that she now refuses to play during break time. This week, Eliza was informed the school had decided to allow the boy back on a part-time basis. 'Got the official decision back this morning that the little boy who stabbed her will be allowed back at school next Monday,' she said. 'The school have spent money to create a new position and employ someone specifically for him. 'They have also moved him to another kindergarten class.' Eliza alleged that the school had described the horrifying ordeal as a 'puncture,' and has refused to answer her repeated pleas for answers. 'Upon my arrival at the school after being informed an ambulance had to be called for my daughter due to a large amount of blood coming from her head, the staff at the school refused to tell me how she sustained her injury,' she said. 'I have no information regarding the stabbing from anyone at the school. The only information I have is what my daughter has been able to tell me herself.' During a meeting on Thursday, Eliza said staff told her they had not failed in their duty of care and had not made any reports to the Department of Communities and Justice about the incident. 'Armidale Catholic Schools' office have kindly created and funded an entirely new position specifically for the child who stabbed her, to be watched,' she said. 'At this stage he is only allowed to return from 8:30 to 11am, and they feel they have minimised the risk enough for him to return. 'Money they are so quickly willing to spend that could have much better use and benefits to all the kids if the school had just done the right thing and removed this dangerous little boy from the school altogether. 'But they are adamant they want him back.' Eliza claims that parents of children in the new class were not consulted about the decision to move the boy, despite fears for their own kids' safety. 'I questioned why the school felt so confident that sending this kid home early would make any difference as this same child has already been sent home early multiple times this year and continued to display unacceptable behaviours,' she said. 'But they seem to think that because they've done a risk assessment this time, everything is fine and dandy.' Eliza claimed every accommodation had been made for the child who caused harm, while she now faces the difficult task of explaining the situation to her daughter. 'I now have to somehow explain why she will still have to face her (alleged) abuser, why the school have not prioritised her safety and education,' she said. She also claims that during a meeting with school officials she was singled out for being 'abusive'. 'I was so very quickly labelled abusive in my meeting this morning despite me not raising my voice once,' she said. In September, Armidale Catholic Schools - the parent body for St Philomena's - said it was aware of the incident and managing the situation. 'Armidale Catholic Schools is undertaking a review to determine next steps,' a statement read at the time. 'This decision will be carefully and thoughtfully made, considering multiple factors and the safety and best interests of all children in our care.' Armidale Catholic Schools said the child who allegedly stabbed Eliza's daughter was then being 'kept out' of school until the school had completed 'appropriate procedures'. 'Armidale Catholic Schools takes its responsibility to all children, families and staff very seriously,' the statement read. 'The safety of our students, staff and the community continues to be our priority.' The organisation was approached for comment about the child's return to school.

Scathing James Tavernier Rangers comments get strong defence as Danny Rohl makes 'my job' admission

Kilmarnock boss Stuart Kettlewell says Rangers captain James Tavernier is within his right to deliver scathing comments about the Ibrox side - and he expects a strong reaction from them on Sunday when Killie travel to Govan. The “raging” 33-year-old full-back described as “disgraceful” the Light Blues’ 3-0 Europa League defeat by Brann in Bergen on Thursday night in Danny Rohl’s first game as Gers head coach as Rangers were left bottom of the 36-team league phase table with no points from three fixtures. Kettlewell, whose side are one point ahead of sixth-placed Gers in the Premiership, said: “I think their own captain’s entitled to that, when you’ve done what he’s done at the football club and you’ve been there as long as he has been. “I’m a massive fan of James Tavernier, I have been for many, many years, so I’ll always show the utmost respect. He’s entitled to speak that way and he’s entitled to say the words that he did. I’m not, because I’ve not played, coached or managed for Rangers. So again, I always talk about walking in the shoes. He’ll understand the standards expected. “So from that point of view, I’ll analyse the performance and how they played, but I’ll not pass comment about what I thought about it or starting to give clear description of what other people may or may not think. “I get this narrative at the minute that everybody’s jumping on the bandwagon, people will be talking about that result not being good enough last night. But again, when you start to look at it closely, there are a lot of good players in that Rangers squad. “There’s been heavy investment to make sure that they bring in what they feel are top players and guys that can really flourish at the football club. So I suppose from my side, I get and acknowledge that it’s not been the start in performances at Rangers supporters, staff or players would be expecting. “But I’m also the guy that really expects the best version of them on Sunday. And I think if you go there imagining something different, you’re very, very naive and sometimes I think that’s where you can get a smack in the face.” Rohl admits has to “find solutions as soon as possible” following Rangers’ chastening reversal in Bergen. “We have high standards at Rangers and we were not on point there,” the German head coach said. “You see exactly where we are at the moment. I think that game gave me a lot of information, my job now is to find solutions as soon as possible. “I have to develop and improve the players. I have to develop and improve the group. This is what I have to do. This is my job. We played a team who were organised, aggressive and did the basics right, and we didn’t. But my job is to lift them again, give them the solutions, and be ready on Sunday.” Rohl did not talk about poorly-conceded goals in isolation but focused on the dismal performance as a whole. “I think we have to speak about the poor performance of the team and it was not good enough,” he continued. “I think everybody was hoping that we would start when I arrived, but in football, you can wish something, but it is reality and I have to work hard with my group, with my players, but I’m totally convinced we can make the turnaround. “This is where we are, we want to play football, we are involved in this business, we are part of a big club. And we have to understand the demand and the demand is winning games. “I learned a lot about individual profiles from players, to see them on the pitch, to see them under pressure, what they can do, what we have to improve. And this is my job now to find quick solutions.”

Battlefield 6 devs are waging war on XP farms because they've "made it harder" to find "experiences Portal was created for," but they know some feel "farming servers are necessary"

The war between Battlefield 6 and XP farming continues, as EA and Battlefield Studios have issued more updates to curb the use of bots in Portal. These come as a number of restrictions were rolled out to mitigate PvE farms through custom servers. Soon after launch, Battlefield 6 players encountered frustratingly slow progression in the FPS, to the point they started making workarounds. A popular solution has been using Portal servers to create bot-heavy maps where certain settings allowed for participants to sponge up XP without having to crawl along in regular play. This isn't ideal, and both progression and Portal are getting touched up to make up for it. After putting up guardrails for bot servers, including XP caps, two more changes were made today to continue downplaying PvE versus PvP, though with the acknowledgment many playing consider "farming servers are necessary due to the difficulty of challenges or issues affecting them." The latter is something the devs intend to address, as they're "actively working on updates for challenges and will share details as progress is made in this area." Meanwhile, verified servers – marked as such in the search – give full XP if they don’t have 'Bot Backfill' on, while rewards from Custom Experiences are still reduced overall. "This keeps creative freedom and allows you to express yourself within Portal while maintaining progression balance," a post from the official Battlefield Comms Twitter account states. It's stated that the heavy use of bots on Portal is antithetical to the desired purpose of people browsing different spins on what Battlefield 6 can offer. "We believe the best Battlefield moments happen when players connect and compete in shared, player-driven experiences. The kind of experiences that capture the unpredictability, teamwork, and intense moments that define Battlefield," the post reads. "These servers have made it harder for players to discover the kinds of experiences Portal was created for. We have organized a series of changes to emphasize our commitment to highlighting the player community and making this a space where you can celebrate creativity, find unique experiences, play with friends, and build communities." The reaction is mixed in responses, as players are still concerned about people who can only check in on a limited schedule. "Give portal servers weapon XP, assignment progress, and zero account XP. This maintains your preference on progression, while allowing a 40 y/o with wife and two kids to unlock class badges and weapon attachments," reads one popular reply. Finding a balance that suits all parties is a work in progress, as the devs reckon with keeping one of the most popular games of the year stable. We'll keep you informed.
