Candace Owens, a close friend of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, recently took to social media to express her distrust of Kash Patel, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), following a recent article in The New York Times. For the uninitiated, the article, dated October 28, 2025, reported that Patel was "alarmed" after Joe Kent, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, examined various FBI files to determine whether Tyler Robinson, Kirk's alleged assassin, received outside help from "a foreign power or another entity."Following this, Candace Owens took to her X account to share her opinion about the report, claiming that Kash Patel was "upset" that Joe Kent and Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, were attempting to solve Kirk's murder. She further suggested that Patel wanted to be the "sole point person" on the investigation, writing:"This article is literally about how Kash Patel is upset that Joe Kent and Tulsi Gabbard are trying to do their jobs and solve the Charlie Kirk murder case. It’s like Kash Patel wants to be the sole point person on this—why? I do not trust him at all."According to The New York Times article, sources with knowledge about the situation told the publication that Kash Patel and other higher-ranking FBI officials believed Joe Kent was "overstepping" and "potentially interfering" with the FBI investigation. Tennis Premier League announces TPL race to Gold Masters Tournaments 2025

Mumbai: In what is a major boost for the tennis ecosystem in India, the Tennis Premier League (TPL), announced the return of the TPL Race to Gold Masters Tournaments 2025. Designed to attract the best young tennis players across the country through the TPL App, the TPL Race to Gold Masters Tournaments 2025 is a competition that will be played in three different phases in India. The TPL Race to Gold Masters will commence with the North Zone in New Delhi on November 15 and November 16 at the DLTA Stadium, and be followed by the Gujarat leg in Ahmedabad on November 22nd and 23rd, 2025, at the Gujarat University Tennis Stadium. The caravan’s final pit stop will be the Maharashtra leg in Mumbai on November 29th and 30th, 2025, at the MSLTA Stadium. All three Masters are being held in association with the respective state tennis associations – Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA), Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) and Haryana Tennis Association (HTA). The TPL Race to Gold Masters provides a unique platform for emerging tennis players, giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills and earn recognition at the national level using TPL’s unique and exciting 25-point format. Top-ranked players of each Race to Gold Masters Zone across U10 Boys and Girls, U12 Boys and Girls, U14 Boys and Girls, and Men’s and Women’s Open categories will receive scholarships worth Rs75,000. The champions will also be felicitated live on television during the upcoming seventh season of the Tennis Premier League set to be held in Ahmedabad from 9th to 14th December, celebrating their achievement on one of India’s biggest tennis stages. OpenAI is offering free access to ChatGPT for many users but the company is quietly building a product that could eventually earn them a lot of money. When you talk about AI, most companies refute plans to bring ads but as Google has shown with the AI search version, ads are inevitable and OpenAI could go one step further by using your chats with the AI chatbot to offer targeted ads. The company is looking to make this model work within ChatGPT and use the memory feature where people can browse through their earlier chats with the AI chatbot when they login. ChatGPT Ads: Scary But Hard To Avoid The report comes from The Information, which quotes sources from within OpenAI and the plans to bring ads to ChatGPT are well and truly moving the levels. Memory acts like website cookies for AI chatbots, and if OpenAI does access the data to target users with personal ads, the whole dynamics of AI changes, at least for their business fortunes. We are not sure about the actual thought process that the company will rely on for this decision but Sam Altman and Co. clearly need to bring more money to keep the AI data centres running. Using your personal data to show ads is a well versed strategy that all tech brands have adopted over the years. OpenAI doing it is not shocking by any means, but using really personal conversations to plug product placement just feels unwise, at least till AI becomes integral to everyone’s digital workflow. Altman has been asked about bringing ads to ChatGPT and during an interview in 2024 he claimed ads will be a “last resort for us.” So, has OpenAI reached that stage in its evolution, not really, and that means all the calls and feedback over ads in ChatGPT should ideally take a back seat at least for the next 6 to 12 months, if not more. Trump's charm offensive in Asia sends Nikkei 225 to record heights

Bangkok, Oct 29 (AP) Shares were mostly higher Wednesday in Asia as Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 index surged more than 2 per cent to another record. US futures were mixed and oil prices were little changed. US President Donald Trump has been touring Asia and his upbeat comments on relations with major economies like Japan and China have helped fuel rallies while US stocks have pushed further into record heights. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 was up 2.4 per cent at 51,410.40. After a charm offensive in Japan that culminated in USD 490 billion in investment commitments, President Donald Trump met with South Korea’s leader on Wednesday, though a trade deal with that country appeared more elusive. Still, South Korea’s Kospi rose 1.2 per cent to 4,058.37. The Shanghai Composite index was up 0.5 per cent at 4,006.21. It has been trading near decade highs ahead of Trump’s expected meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on the sidelines of a regional summit in South Korea. Trump and Xi have been locked in an escalating trade war, with Washington imposing high tariffs and tightened technology controls and China retaliating with curbs on rare earth shipments, one of its key sources of leverage. The fact that a meeting is planned suggests there is room for some progress in easing tensions, experts say. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 declined 1 per cent to 8,926.20 after the release of higher than expected inflation data, an annual rate of 3.2 per cent, dashed hopes for an interest rate cut anytime soon. Taiwan’s Taiex gained 1.2 per cent and India’s Sensex was up 0.3 per cent. On Tuesday, the US stock market pushed further into record heights. The S&P 500 added 0.2 per cent to 6,890.89. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3 per cent to 47,706.37, and the Nasdaq composite climbed 0.8 per cent to 23,827.49. All three indexes set all-time highs for a third straight day. Wall Street is waiting for a few events that could shake things up. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve will announce its latest move on interest rates, while some of the stock market’s most influential companies will report how much profit they made during the summer. Investors expect the Fed to announce a rate cut given the slowing job market. It would be the second time this year that it’s lowered the federal funds rate in hopes of helping the job market. United Parcel Service rallied 8 per cent Tuesday after delivering stronger profit and revenue for the latest quarter than analysts expected. PayPal climbed 3.9 per cent after saying it made a bigger profit during the summer than analysts expected. It also said it plans to pay its shareholders a dividend every three months, while announcing a deal where internet users will be able to pay for purchases through OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Skyworks Solutions climbed 5.8 per cent after saying it would merge with Qorvo in a cash-and-stock deal where Skyworks shareholders will own roughly 63 per cent of the combined company, valued at USD 22 billion. Qorvo’s stock rose nearly as much, 5.7 per cent. Microsoft was one of the strongest forces lifting the market after rising 2 per cent. That sent the company’s total value on Wall Street above USD 4 trillion. On the losing end of Wall Street was Royal Caribbean, which lost 8.5 per cent despite reporting a stronger profit than analysts expected. Its revenue for the latest quarter fell short of expectations. Homebuilder D.R. Horton sank 3.2 per cent after reporting a weaker profit for the summer than analysts expected. Amazon, meanwhile, rose 1 per cent after saying it will cut about 14,000 corporate jobs, or about 4 per cent of its corporate workforce, as it ramps up spending on artificial intelligence while cutting costs elsewhere. In other dealings early Wednesday, US benchmark crude oil inched up 2 cents to USD 60.17 a barrel. Brent crude, the international standard, also rose 2 cents, to USD 63.85 a barrel. Two arrested in Odisha over Kolkata murder case

Kolkata, Oct 29 (PTI) Kolkata Police on Wednesday arrested two persons from neighbouring Odisha for their alleged involvement in the murder of a young man in a hotel in the metropolis, an officer said. The two accused, identified as Shashikant Behera and Santosh Behera, were nabbed from Sambalpur. “We are trying to determine the motive behind the killing. The duo is being questioned,” he said, adding they would be brought to West Bengal on transit remand. Last week, the body of one person, identified as Rahul Lal, was found in a storage compartment in a hotel room in the Park Street area of Kolkata. Preliminary investigation suggested he was strangled to death with a bedsheet. Investigators linked the killing to Sambalpur through leads from the deceased’s Aadhaar card and mobile phone number. Lal had a criminal background and was previously arrested for theft and fraud, he said. “Multiple cases were registered against him at the Park Street police station. He was allegedly involved in selling stolen goods, including antique items, to interstate smuggling networks for hefty profits,” he said. Police suspect that Lal had recently acquired a valuable stolen artifact and had arranged a meeting with members of an Odisha-based smuggling ring to negotiate its sale. “The hotel room was booked for that meeting. Investigators suspect he was murdered and the artifact stolen. A search is on to trace the item and identify others involved in the crime,” he added. PTI SCH ACD
