Christopher Lindner would 'break from reality' on drugs, court documents say

Christopher Lindner was in a downward spiral of drug and alcohol abuse in the years ahead of a fatal police shooting, occasionally having moments when his wife said he would “break from reality,” according to court documents obtained by The Enquirer. The progression to Lindner threatening construction workers with a knife, leading police on a chase and being shot at one of his family’s homes in Adams County on Nov. 14 began more than half a decade earlier, the documents show. Lindner was the 40-year-old son of Carl Lindner III and a member of the Lindner family, one of Ohio's wealthiest families and one of Cincinnati's most well-known. The Lindner family expanded its small dairy business into the United Dairy Farmers chain of ice cream-selling convenience stores and founded American Financial Group, a Fortune 500 company. As recently as two weeks before the shooting, Tabitha Lindner warned authorities of her husband’s declining mental state in filings for a protective order. He was talking to people who weren't there and “preparing people for battle,” she wrote, and gathering multiple rifles and other firearms for “the end of the world.” “He appears to believe he is in a battle and being directed by God,” Tabitha Lindner wrote. “I am afraid of what he might do with his guns.” Firearms incident led to 2019 arrest Christopher Lindner was charged in December 2019 after he "was photographed pointing a handgun" at his wife, according to Hamilton County court records. Lindner’s wife said he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, waving a firearm at her and the children in a threatening manner while screaming obscenities, according to court records. His wife said she would not press charges if Christopher Lindner went to rehab. He agreed. The case was dismissed about six months later, but Tabitha Lindner said the drug and alcohol abuse did not stop. In late 2024, she recalled an incident on a trip to Disney where Christopher Lindner was smoking marijuana, drinking alcohol and acting “extremely paranoid” that they had been followed there. Tabitha Lindner said he made comments about hurting her and other people nearby. The couple separated until Christopher Lindner said he would stop using drugs and alcohol. He moved back into their Indian Hill home in early 2025. Lindner, with THC vape pens, said he was ‘bringing about the rapture’ In early October, Tabitha Lindner found multiple THC vape pens she believed Christopher Lindner had purchased. When she confronted him about it, he eventually told her he was a “living radio” and supposed to play a part in “bringing about the rapture,” but wasn’t sure what that would entail. Christopher Lindner left the home a few days later, deciding to stay at the family’s estate in Adams County to “detox.” Tabitha Lindner said she saw Christopher Lindner on the property’s security cameras, watching as he wore a bulletproof vest, carried a side arm and paced the house yelling at people who weren’t there. He made mentions of their children, she said. Christopher Lindner made attempts to come back home on Oct. 7. He was caught once by his father, Carl Lindner III, who asked him to leave, which he did, according to court documents. A day later, on Oct. 8, Tabitha Lindner filed for a civil protection order because she believed Christopher Lindner would harm her and their children. The protection order was granted first on Oct. 8, then again after a full hearing on Nov. 3. He did not attend either hearing. In both cases, Lindner was instructed to give up his guns. It is unclear if he was served. Lindner threatens workers near marijuana dispensary In the hours leading up to Lindner’s deadly confrontation with police, a 911 caller described him threatening construction workers with a knife and making threats to kill them. The call came from an employee at UpLift, a marijuana dispensary in Mount Orab. The employee said she could identify the man because he shops at the dispensary and gave the dispatcher Christopher Lindner’s name and driver’s license number. "He was outside of his car," the caller said. "He put a vest on, and then started waving a knife around in the air, told the construction workers, 'I'm going to kill you' and then peeled out of here." The caller said he left through a field near the business and headed toward Holman Way. Police officers spotted Lindner in Peebles, a village 30 miles east of Mount Orab, and began a chase that reached over 100 mph. Lindner led police to the family’s home in the 4100 block of Brush Creek Road. "After repeated attempts for the subject to surrender, he exited the residence with a firearm at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred," a highway patrol news release states. Lindner was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Father 'became irate' when Cork gardaí questioned his son about stolen jacket, court told

A Cork father became so irate that his son was being questioned by gardaí about an alleged stolen jacket he had to be arrested and handcuffed, the district court has heard. Court presenter Inspector Anthony Harrington told Macroom District Court that gardaí had received a report of a jacket being stolen at 7.10pm on October 27, 2024. Investigating gardaí were informed that a particular individual had been seen wearing the stolen jacket. Giving evidence, Sergeant Michael Kelleher told the court the suspect was spotted driving past his patrol car with his parents and they were pulled over outside the Riverside Hotel in Macroom. The court heard that as gardaí questioned the suspect about the alleged theft, his father — 62-year-old Denis O’Driscoll, of Lower Codrum, Macroom, Co. Cork — who was a passenger in the car got out and began remonstrating with them. Sgt Kelleher said O’Driscoll “got very vocal and very angry” and was repeatedly asked to step back on the footpath but was “coming around the back of the car” onto the road and was becoming more and more vocal and aggressive. Sgt Kelleher said the area was busy at the time and O’Driscoll repeatedly refused to listen to garda instructions. O’Driscoll eventually had to be handcuffed and resisted arrest. The court heard it took “a number of attempts” to put the handcuffs on him. Defence solicitor Patrick Goold said O’Driscoll had become so incensed because he was certain his son had not stolen the jacket which ultimately proved to be the case. Giving evidence, O’Driscoll said he did “nothing wrong” and alleged that Sgt Kelleher had kicked him in the leg causing him to fall on the ground. Judge John King said it appeared that O’Driscoll “did a bit of roaring and shouting” and was “awkward towards the gardaí”. He said O’Driscoll was charged with disorderly conduct where a charge of obstruction would probably have been more appropriate. The court heard that a fixed penalty notice was issued to O’Driscoll but the fine was not paid but no evidence of postage could be provided and Judge King dismissed the charge. Impatient driver who drove wrong way up one-way street in West Cork admits careless driving

An impatient driver who drove the wrong way up a one-way street has pleaded guilty to the charge of careless driving in the district court. Court presenter Sergeant Tom Mulcahy told Skibbereen District Court that gardaí were attending a road traffic incident at the junction of Main Street and Bridge Street in Skibbereen on September 15, 2024, at 12.30am. While attending the scene they became aware of a black jeep revving its engine loudly outside JC’s takeaway at the nearby Field’s SuperValu carpark. The court heard the jeep kept revving its engine and then drove at speed the wrong way up a one-way street leading from the car park out onto Main Street. The jeep failed to stop and then drove off at speed towards North Street. The court was told that gardaí were unable to pursue the vehicle because they were attending to a road traffic incident that had happened a short time earlier. The court heard that the driver of the jeep — identified as 30-year-old Brendan O’Donovan of Kealties, Durrus, and currently residing in Perth, Australia — had seven previous convictions including four for road traffic matters. O’Donovan’s most recent conviction was for possession of drugs in 2019. Defence solicitor, Flor Murphy, said O’Donovan was not present in court because he was working “in the mines” near Perth, Australia, where he was residing on a two-year visa. He said O’Donovan’s mother was in court on his behalf and his client had instructed him to plead guilty to the charge of careless driving. Mr Murphy said that on the night in question O’Donovan was collecting family members from Skibbereen and became impatient when they took a long time to leave JC’s takeaway and was revving the engine to let them know he was anxious to leave. Mr Murphy said the jeep was “facing the wrong way” and O’Donovan realised his mistake after exiting onto Main Street and “kept going”. Mr Murphy said O’Donovan was well known for being “wildish” in his youth but had always worked and had not come to garda attention for several years. The court was told that O’Donovan was fully co-operative, had apologised to gardaí the next day and he had also instructed his solicitor to apologise to the court. Judge Joanne Carroll convicted O’Donovan of careless driving and fined him €500 allowing four months to pay. Funded by the Courts Reporting Scheme

What should I do when I noticed that My PAN misused by someone for doing business and then froude with government and me

What is the best % of SWP one can think of from Portfolio value. I am retired now and have say 1 Cr as MF and Share portfolio. I want to go for 40000 SWP per month thereby making 4.8% as SWP. If this is good to have this for 15 yrs Ans: Your question shows great care for your financial future. Many retirees ignore this step. You have already taken a wise move. You want steady income. You want safety. You want long life for your money. These are very important points. I truly appreciate your clarity. » Understanding your present plan Your idea is simple. You have Rs 1 crore. You want Rs 40000 each month. This means Rs 4.8 lakh each year. That is 4.8 percent of your money. This is not very high. This is not very low. It sits in the middle range. Many retirees try for 7 or 8 percent. That can put pressure on the portfolio. Your 4.8 percent is more reasonable. It supports discipline. It keeps stress low. Your idea is for 15 years. That is a good time frame. It gives space for your funds to grow. It gives time for market cycles. It also gives time for inflation adjustments. » Why withdrawal rate matters Your SWP rate decides how long your money will last. A high rate can drain funds soon. A very low rate may not support your monthly needs. Your 4.8 percent sits well. It balances life needs and portfolio health. When you draw money from a mixed portfolio, the growth side helps refill your withdrawn money. The stability side helps reduce fall during bad years. This mix helps the SWP stay steady. » Why a proper structure is important A SWP is not only a monthly withdrawal. It is a full system. The system needs planning. It needs regular reviews. It needs a clear asset split. It needs a cushion for weak market years. If you set this structure well now, your SWP can stay safe. Your money can stretch for many years. You can keep peace of mind. » The importance of a balanced mix Your portfolio may hold equity funds, hybrid funds, and debt funds. A clear mix reduces risk. It gives smooth cash flow. Equity gives growth. Debt gives steady flow. Hybrid gives balance. Because you want monthly income for 15 years, you need a balance that supports steady SWP. A pure equity plan can shake too much. A pure debt plan may not grow at a good pace. A balanced mix is ideal. » Equity funds need careful use Some investors put large money in equity for SWP. This can work in strong markets. This can fail in weak markets. Your SWP must survive both market moods. That is why pure equity for SWP is not safe. Also, you should prefer actively managed funds over index funds for long SWP. Index funds follow the index blindly. They do not manage risk actively. They cannot adjust to market cycles. Actively managed funds have a professional fund manager. A skilled manager helps in limiting risk in low years. This helps protect principal in SWP years. This support is not present in index funds. » Debt funds form the stabiliser Debt funds bring peace to the portfolio. They help during bad market years. They help the SWP stay steady. Because debt funds follow market rates, they work as the anchor. For SWP, this anchor is very helpful. If you use direct debt funds, you must remember that direct funds need more tracking. They need active reviews by you. Many retired investors find this hard. Regular plans taken through a qualified Mutual Fund Distributor with CFP skill provide guidance. Regular plans also give handholding. This handholding helps avoid wrong exits. » How to view your Rs 40000 monthly need You may need some money for basic needs. You may need some money for health care. You may need some money for family support. You may need some money for personal comfort. Rs 40000 per month seems a balanced number. It does not put too much pressure on the money. It is not a very heavy load. It fits well with a Rs 1 crore fund. » Inflation needs attention Inflation will rise. Costs will rise. Your need will rise. Your SWP should rise slowly over time. You cannot fix your SWP for 15 years at one number. That may reduce your buying power. A small rise every two or three years will help you beat inflation. This rise must be slow. It must match your portfolio growth. » Risk of sharp market falls Sharp falls can disturb SWP. A sudden big drop in equity value can pull down your portfolio. This may cause you to withdraw when market is low. That is not good. To fix this, you need enough stability in your mix. A proper allocation in debt funds and hybrid funds can reduce this issue. You will get smoother cash flow. You will not have to worry about market news every day. » Role of emergency money Please keep an emergency amount. Keep this aside. Do not include it in your SWP plan. You may need money for urgent health needs. You may need money for home needs. Emergency funds help you avoid sudden selling. A good emergency fund gives peace. It protects your SWP from sudden shocks. » Tax rules for withdrawals Every SWP withdrawal may include some gains. Tax will apply based on the type of fund and the gain period. This tax can have impact on net flow. You must plan for this in your withdrawal design. Equity fund rules: Gains under one year are short-term. These are taxed at 20 percent. Gains above one year are long-term. Long-term gains above Rs 1.25 lakh are taxed at 12.5 percent. Debt fund rules: Both short-term and long-term gains are taxed as per your tax slab. This tax part should not scare you. A proper plan can reduce the tax burden. A planned SWP can help you manage gains carefully. » Why a Certified Financial Planner helps You may handle small things by yourself. But retirement planning is delicate. One wrong move can disturb the whole plan. A Certified Financial Planner gives a clear road map. He helps you set the best mix. He reviews the plan every year. He adjusts the plan for market and life events. This guidance is very useful in SWP because SWP needs discipline. » Why not consider real estate Some retirees think of using real estate for income. But real estate needs heavy work. It needs tenant work. It needs repair work. It needs legal care. It gives lumpy income. It gives no steady flow. So it is not fit for SWP planning. Your present goal is steady income. Real estate will not give this. » Why not consider annuities Annuities give fixed income. But they lock your money. They give low returns. They do not beat inflation well. They reduce flexibility. For these reasons, they are not ideal for your long-term income. Your idea of SWP with balanced mix is better. » Keeping your portfolio healthy for 15 years To keep your portfolio safe for 15 years, you must follow some habits: Review every year with a Certified Financial Planner. Adjust asset mix if needed. Increase SWP amount slowly. Reduce SWP for one or two years if markets fall very deep. Protect your money from emotional moves. Keep a two-year buffer in a low-risk fund. Keep your growth part running for long. These habits help your money last for the full 15-year horizon. » Regular review helps you adapt Markets will change. Your health may change. Your needs may change. A yearly review will help align your plan. It will help spot issues early. It will help guide the next year’s SWP. Without reviews, even good plans can fail. » Why a two-year cushion helps A cushion fund is a simple idea. Keep two years of SWP in a low-risk debt fund. This money helps you draw income even in bad market years. You will not need to sell equity in weak phases. This protects your overall money. This makes your SWP more stable. This cushion fund is an extra shield. It supports your 15-year income plan. » Role of diversification Your SWP works best when your portfolio is spread well. A spread can include: Actively managed equity funds. Hybrid funds. Debt funds. This spread reduces risk. It gives smoothness. It supports long-term income. Avoid using too many funds. Keep it simple. A small number of quality funds is better. » How your 4.8 percent looks in practice A 4.8 percent withdrawal rate is comfortable for a 15-year horizon. If you follow discipline, your money will not face heavy pressure. If your portfolio grows at a steady pace, your principal will not erode fast. Even if growth shifts between years, the mixed structure will protect you. Your plan is workable. It is sensible. It is future-friendly. » Mistakes to avoid Here are some mistakes you should avoid: Do not chase high-return funds. Do not raise SWP sharply in one year. Do not keep too much money in equity. Do not stop reviews. Do not shift funds often without reason. Do not look at direct plans if you prefer guidance. These mistakes can disturb your portfolio health. Your SWP may suffer. » Why not use direct funds if you need support Direct plans give lower cost. But they give no guidance. Retired investors often need guidance. They need reviews. They need discipline. A regular plan through a qualified Mutual Fund Distributor with CFP skill gives support. It prevents panic reactions. This support is valuable in low market years. » Healthy mindset for SWP Try to see your SWP as a long journey. It needs calm mind. It needs steady steps. It needs slow corrections. It needs patience. If you stay steady, your SWP will stay healthy. You will enjoy peace. » Practical steps you can start now You may start with these steps: Set clear needs for each year. Fix a proper asset split. Create a cushion fund for two years. Start SWP from a low-risk fund or hybrid fund. Keep equity for growth. Add small hikes in SWP every few years. This system supports long-term income. » How your plan supports a joyful retired life Your plan helps you live with comfort. It gives predictable cash flow. It gives you freedom from worry. It gives you clarity. You can focus on health, family, and peace. You do not need to watch markets each day. Your retirement life becomes balanced. » Final Insights Your idea of taking Rs 40000 per month from a Rs 1 crore portfolio at 4.8 percent is workable. It fits well for a 15-year horizon. It supports your income. It protects your money if you set a balanced mix. You must follow steady reviews. You must keep a small cushion. You must avoid risky moves. With these practices, your SWP plan can stay healthy for many years. Your future can stay peaceful and steady. You have already taken the right first step. Your clarity gives your plan strong power. Minister plans to ban disposable vapes and restrict nicotine pouches

The legislation, introduced in 2023, also prohibited advertising within 200m of a school, on public transport, and at events aimed at children. It is understood that this will also apply to nicotine pouches. Nicotine pouches, also known as snus, are placed between the lip and the gum. The HSE website notes that the pouches are “not yet covered by the same laws as tobacco products”, meaning that “they may be easier for young people to buy and use”. The products contain nicotine, flavouring, sweeteners and fillers, and other chemicals. The nicotine in the products is made in a laboratory rather than from tobacco. Other amendments to the bill will see restrictions placed on the colours of nicotine and tobacco products, and a ban on point-of-sale displays and advertising in shops. The health minister will also seek Government approval to publish legislation banning the sale of disposable vapes. The ban will come into effect six months after the commencement of the act. Scoliosis and spina bifida Separately, Ms Carroll MacNeill will bring a memo to Cabinet recommending a statutory inquiry into issues relating to the care of children with scoliosis and spina bifida, following her meeting last week with the parents of Harvey Morrison-Sherratt, a nine-year-old scoliosis patient who died in July. Talks with NFL Elsewhere, sports minister Patrick O’Donovan will tell his colleagues that conversations to hold another NFL game in Ireland next autumn are under way. It is understood that a “number of potential teams are in the mix”. Early indications show that the Steelers vs Vikings game, which was held in Croke Park in September, was the second-highest-grossing overseas NFL game of all time. Apprenticeships Higher education minister James Lawless, meanwhile, will bring a memo to Cabinet to note a €20.5m investment in apprenticeships. The investment will be allocated across four technological universities and one institute of technology, delivering over 1,500 new apprentice places.

A Disney Movie from the 1970s Starred a Real Dog with a Human Stunt Double — The Hilarious Footage Is Going Viral

Disney’s 1976 film The Shaggy D.A., seemingly utilized a human in a dog costume as a real dog's stunt double — and the internet is weighing in on the hilarious footage. The Instagram account @explaining shared several clips from the film, writing in a caption that "filmmakers pulled off some of their funniest stunts using a surprising trick — a human stunt double dressed as the dog." The caption added: "When scenes called for complex actions — like driving cars, running on two legs, or performing slapstick falls — a stuntman in a full sheepdog costume stepped in to safely handle the chaos!" In one such scene, a real-life sheepdog can be seen trotting towards a human co-star. But a quick change in angle from the camera and a person in a dog costume can then be seen punching the actor in the face. In another scene, the dog appears to jump out the window before the human in costume latches on to a rope to escape from a third-floor building. Internet users weighed in on the technique, with some saying it's a nice respite from CGI so often used in modern-day films. Writes one commenter: "Honestly I’m kinda sick of hyper realism and all this cgi. I’m for some silly analog solutions to make a return once in awhile." Adds another: "Honestly it’s a lot more seamless than some transitions to cgi." A Reddit thread discussing the film offered similar takes, with one commenter writing, "This seemed much more realistic and dramatic in 1976." Added another Reddit commenter: "It is such a product of its time, it might as well be a time capsule." A 1976 review by film critic Roger Ebert detailed the film's plot: A man running for district attorney "comes into possession of an ancient ring with strange supernatural powers," and uses it to turn his political opponent into a large dog, any time he read the inscription on the ring. Starring Dean Jones, the film, Ebert wrote, meant that the actor got "top billing in a movie where his corporal presence is required only as a premise. Where in half the scenes he does get to appear, he’s there for the purpose of growing hair on his face, like a demented Wolf Man." Ebert described the film as "one of Disney’s better recent efforts, if only for the unique insights it offers, as in the scenes where Suzanne Pleshette tries to keep a straight face while saying to the dog, 'Come on, dear, time to go home.'"

Congress Is Voting on Whether to Release the Epstein Files. Here’s What to Know

Skip to main content November 17, 2025 Jeffrey Epstein, on May 18, 2005. Neil Rasmus/Patrick McMullan/Getty Images After months of delay tactics and attempted strong-arming by Republican leadership, the House is set to vote Tuesday on legislation that would force the Justice Department to release the so-called Epstein files. The vote, which is expected to pass with the support of over a dozen Republicans, marks a bipartisan rejection of President Donald Trump, who urged his party to move on from Epstein and vote against the resolution before reversing course over the weekend after it had become clear the resolution would pass. This historic vote — and the months-long battle to bring the bill to the floor — caused rifts between Trump and some of his closest allies, while continuing to raise questions about the president’s relationship with one of the most notorious sex offenders in American history. As lawmakers prepare to cast their ballots, here’s everything you need to know about what they will actually be voting on, what is already public, and what questions they hope to answer by releasing new information. What are the Epstein Files? The documents referred to as the “Epstein files” are the evidence and testimony collected by the Justice Department and FBI over the course of two investigations and criminal cases against Epstein. Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to procuring and soliciting prostitution from a minor in a controversial sweetheart deal with federal prosecutors. He died by suicide in federal custody in 2019 after being charged with sex trafficking of minors in a separate investigation. The files held by the DOJ and FBI reportedly contain thousands of pages of witness and survivor testimony, digital evidence, communications between Epstein and others, as well as potentially videos and images of sexual abuse against minors. Since Epstein died in prison, only his close associate and long term partner — Ghislane Maxwell — has been tried and convicted in connection with the trafficking ring run by Epstein. The lack of subsequent investigations and prosecutions into others named by survivors as participants in their abuse has generated widespread public interest in the contents of the files, and the reasons behind federal prosecutors’ failure to pursue additional indictments. Editor’s picks The 250 Greatest Albums of the 21st Century So Far The 100 Best TV Episodes of All Time The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century Conservatives and right-wing commentators spent years calling for transparency regarding the government’s Epstein investigations, while insisting Trump would release the files upon returning to office. In July, after a public stunt in which prominent MAGA influencers were photographed at the White House with binders supposedly containing a portion of the files, the DOJ and FBI pulled the rug out from under their own movement, announcing that they would not be releasing any additional indictments, and that evidence related to the case would not be made public. The resulting backlash has persisted for months, and the slow, continuous trickle of information related to the case has placed increased scrutiny on the president. Shortly after the DOJ made its announcement, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had been warned by the Justice Department that his name appears in the files. Trump has repeatedly called the scandal a “hoax” perpetrated by Democrats. On Saturday, he demanded that Attorney General Pam Bondi launch investigations into other men named in Epstein-related documents, including former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman. Bondi quickly agreed. What is the House voting on? The House will vote Tuesday on “The Epstein Files Transparency Act,” which would require the DOJ to release “all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in the possession of the Department of Justice, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and United States Attorneys’ Offices,” related to the cases against Epstein and Maxwell. These include flight logs and travel records, records on corporate entities associated with Epstein, the identities of individuals “named or referenced in connection with Epstein’s criminal activities, civil settlements, immunity or plea agreements, or investigatory proceedings,” as well as internal communications among government agents discussing the case. Related Content FCC Chairman Shares Trump Post Calling for NBC to Fire Seth Meyers ‘Immediately’ The War Between MTG and Trump: How Did We Get Here? Aaron Sorkin on Writing Presidents and America’s ‘Cult-Like Devotion’ to Trump 'SNL' Weekend Update Hammers Trump Over Epstein The act would allow the DOJ to redact sensitive information pertaining to the identity of survivors, as well as material depicting child sexual abuse, other violent crimes, or material that would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. Critically, there is some evidence in the DOJ’s documents on Epstein that cannot be released without judicial approval, primarily sealed grand jury transcripts. Judges have recently rejected bids by the DOJ to unseal grand jury testimony related to Epstein’s case, although it is not unheard of for transcripts to be made public. What about all of this other material that has already been released? So, if Congress has to force the DOJ to release all these materials, where are things like Trump’s page from Epstein’s “birthday book,” and the Epstein emails released earlier this month coming from? They’re from an entirely separate source: the Epstein estate. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, led by Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), have been working with Epstein’s estate, as well as survivors, to release evidentiary documents held by representatives of the late sex offender. These include the so-called “birthday book” — a collection of over 50 congratulatory letters that included a lewd missive from Trump — and thousands of emails between Epstein, Maxwell, and other individuals the Oversight Committee released last week. The trove of over 20,000 emails included allegations that Trump knew of Epstein’s activities with underage girls. Epstein wrote in 2011 that Trump “spent hours” at his house with one of his victims, said he was the man who could “take down” Trump, and described Trump as “the dog that hasn’t barked.”In another email, Epstein tells a reporter to look into reports that Trump was so enthralled while ogling young women in Epstein’s pool that he ran face-first into a glass door. On Sunday, Garcia appeared on MS NOW and reaffirmed that the Oversight Committee will continue to seek additional materials from the Epstein estate and other sources. “What we’ve received pales in comparison to the documents that actually exist in the Department of Justice,” he said. “Just stay tuned, because there’s a lot more information that is going to be released, more documents that we’re going to get, and we’re going to continue to demand that they do the right thing and get us that release from the Department of Justice.” What has Trump said? Trump again accused Democrats on Sunday of pushing the “Epstein Hoax” as a way to “deflect from all of their bad policies and losses.” “Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem! Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, and Larry Summers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump,” he wrote. Hours later, Trump flipped his position on the vote, writing on Truth Social that “Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax.” The 180 came after Trump’s efforts to kill the discharge petition — the mechanism through which House members are able to force a vote on the files over the objections of leadership — failed. Last week, the White House reportedly summoned Rep. Lauren Boebert (D-Colo.) to the Situation Room and attempted to convince her to remove her name from the petition, a similar unsuccessful effort was made to convince Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) to withdraw her support. What happens if the House votes to release the Epstein files? Like any other bill, it will be sent up to the Senate, where — if leadership decides to bring it to a vote — it would require only a simple majority to pass. It would then head to Trump’s desk. The president has already indicated he would sign the bill if it does. “I’m all for it,” he said as part of his response to a question on Monday about whether he’d sign the bill. I’m a cricket tragic, and a dad. This statistic saddens me

Seven years ago, a young couple, filled with enthusiasm about setting up their new home in Australia, boarded a one-way flight from India. One a cricket tragic and the other, not so much. The tragic, of course, was me. One of the few things I brought from India was a used leather ball from my school days. On our very first weekend here, my wife joined me on a pilgrimage to Bowral, home of Sir Don Bradman. She may not quite understand how a game can last five days and still end in a draw, but she’s always supported my cricket obsession with good humour and generosity. Cricket has underpinned my whole life. It has shaped friendships, sparked debates, and has now become a platform for my ambitions for our daughters. Together with my wife, I nurse a quiet dream that one day they’ll wear the green and gold for Australia. Last summer, my six-year-old daughter Neeti and I participated in the Daughters and Dads Cricket program at the Cricket NSW facility in Silverwater, Sydney. Developed by Professor Philip Morgan at the University of Newcastle, the program mixes cricket skills with playful activities that get dads and daughters moving together. Research shows it lifts skills, boosts engagement, and makes it far more likely girls will stay in the game. My daughter loved the program. She learned to bowl and play a neat pull shot, but the real win was watching her grow more confident and resilient. Since then, most weekends we play in the backyard — and she’s already asking to join cricket practice this summer. I couldn’t be happier.
