Job Description

Academic Trainer in Cookery will be responsible for developing course materials, providing training and assessment, and other related activities in the VET Sector in Australia. This role requires well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items, etc1. We are seeking individuals who have a background in Cookery and are willing to learn and adapt. Key Responsibilities: Course Materials Development o Development of Learner guides (textbook-like guide for students) o Development of PowerPoint Presentations o Development of Assessment Tools (the exam-paper-like materials by which students are assessed) o Development of self-study guides (additional readings for students) Training and assessment o Deliver training (classes) to VET students o Assess students based on their performance in their assessment (examination). Record keeping o Keep track of tasks and responsibilities completed. Including documents, classes and other relevant tasks. Qualifications: • Graduated in Commercial Cookery, Patisserie or any related field. • Experience as a chef or sous chef with a consistently good academic record throughout. • Excellent verbal/ written communication skills in English. Strong hold on fundamental basics of the subject
