Position: Account Manager – Outside SalesThe Account Manager – Outside Sales is responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of clients, primarily within the construction and building trades industry. This field-based position focuses on developing long-term customer relationships, driving new business, and achieving sales goals. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, knowledgeable about construction materials, and excels in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to retain and expand accounts.Identify and secure new business opportunities with contractors, builders, and developers.Conduct regular site visits to assess client needs, resolve issues, and recommend appropriate products.Prepare and deliver quotes, bids, and product proposals.Collaborate closely with inside sales, operations, and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality service.Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and product developments.Maintain accurate and organized records of sales activities, pipelines, and customer communications through CRM systems.Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience in construction, building materials, or a related field.Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals and growing customer accounts.Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Working knowledge of construction materials (e.g., lumber, drywall, hardware) preferred.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Willingness to travel locally on a daily basis.Preferred Traits:Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.Customer-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.Compensation & Benefits:Competitive base salary plus commission.Vehicle allowance.Health, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Opportunities for career growth and advancement.
