Job Description

Job Title: AccountantAbout the Role:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Canadian accounting practices, a solid understanding of financial compliance, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and execute daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow.Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.Lead quarterly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all records and reconciliations are complete and accurate.Maintain and balance general ledgers and sub-ledgers, verifying consistency with supporting documentation.Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as necessary.Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets and perform monthly variance analysis with explanations.Identify, analyze, and reconcile financial discrepancies through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Oversee tax filings and address related issues, including objections or audit inquiries.Support government audits by preparing required documentation and ensuring compliance.Review financial schedules prepared by external accountants (T2 and CO17) to ensure accuracy.Develop and implement internal accounting policies, procedures, and control systems.Prepare ad-hoc reports and provide financial insights as requested by management. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting and year-end closing experience in Canada.Languages: Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) required.Technical Skills: Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and time-management skills.Work Style: Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
