About the OpportunityKatig Solutions is looking for a Finance Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring that all activities are accurate, compliant, and completed on time. This role provides leadership to the accounting team, implements process improvements, and ensures financial integrity across the organization.The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader with strong techinical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to guide teams through change. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape financial operations within a respected and expanding healthcare organization.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries are completed accurately and on time.Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for all clinic sites and entities.Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with ASPE and company accounting standards.Supervise Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.Review balance sheet reconciliations, expense allocations, and payroll entries for accuracy and completeness.Prepare and review variance analyses, trend reports, and budget-to-actual comparisons for management review.Support the CFO in operational forecasting, cash flow projections, and departmental budget reviews.Provide actionable insights on cost drivers, revenue trends, and expense management to improve profitability.Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.Maintain and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.Ensure compliance with CRA, PHIPA, and internal audit standards.Coordinate and prepare audit schedules, documentation, and respond to auditor requests.Monitor adherence to company procurement and spending policies across departments.Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff, promoting skill development and accountability.Conduct regular performance check-ins and support career progression within the Finance team.Collaborate with Operations, Clinical, and Billing teams to ensure alignment of financial data and processes.Coordinate closely with the OHIP Billing Supervisor to ensure accuracy in revenue and collections reporting.Evaluate accounting systems and tools to streamline reporting and automate manual workflows.Champion continuous improvement in financial data accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.QualificationsStrong leadership and people management experience, with proven success in turning around underperforming or resistant teams.Hands-on expertise in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close.CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) required or in advanced standing.Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally within multi-site or healthcare environments.Proficiency with accounting systems such as Accuro EMR and QuickBooks, with advanced Excel and data analysis skills.Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict management abilities able to hold team members accountable while maintaining professionalism.Deep understanding of ASPE, CRA, and PHIPA compliance requirements.Experience leading Finance teams through organizational restructuring or leadership transitions.Previous experience within healthcare environment.Exposure to process automation, ERP implementation, or other digital transformation initiatives.Familiarity with medical billing systems and OHIP-related reconciliations.Strong business partnering and presentation skills, with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholdersWhat’s OfferedA supportive and collaborative work environment where your contributions are highly valuedEnjoy a fast-paced, high-energy work environment where no two days are the sameCompetitive compensation package ($100,000 - $130,000), including bonus structure and access to benefitsOnsite parking and transit oriented, convenient GTA locationPaid time offCareer development opportunities for learning, and developmentCompany culture events and team buildingYou would work alongside a visionary CEO ands CGO and a highly visible company with a professionally led, collaborative environment, and top-tier executive teamBecome part of an award-winning, influential team that improves access to care, are leaders in inclusivity and that give back to communityHave an opportunity to grow your professional profileWork in a stunning, modern office, conveniently located in Yonge & Sheppard surrounded by amenitiesWellness and Reward PerksAn exciting and fast-paced work environment that encourages professional growthHow to ApplyIf you are eager to grow within a company, be part of an award-wining team, and believe you are the right fit, please submit your CV to careers@katigsolutions.com.
