Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Accountant will assist the Club's finance department with general accounting functions including payroll, recording of store and ticket office cash outs, accounts payable, accounts receivable and preparation of appropriate journal entries. If you bring a strong work ethic and want to make an impact, we'd love to have you on our team.Where will your talents be focused?  (Includes but is not limited to)  Works with finance team to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closings Prepares bank reconciliations Prepares account reconciliations and journal entries as required Run payroll for the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club and Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation Provides support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required Assists in the support of Rider programs and events as assigned Performs other duties as delegated or assigned RequirementsWhat's needed to be successful in this role?  Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma, with a major in Accounting Previous full cycle accounting experience an asset Proficiency with financial management software including spreadsheets, databases, and integrated financial systems Familiarity with Sage accounting software would be an asset Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with attention to detail Strong written and oral communication skills Demonstrated professionalism and maturity in responding to staff, volunteer, sponsors, and members of the public who raise issues and complaints Demonstrated commitment to teamwork through excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with co-workers and the public Independent, proactive thinker who takes initiative and communicates with supervisors to ensure customer concerns are appropriately addressed Proven analytical, communication and organizational skills to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision Team oriented style with a "can do" service focus to achieve organizational results Availability to work irregular hours and work schedules in peak times and in season as needed.
