Job Description

This WorkSource Coastal Department position performs accounting, clerical, and support service duties to the Coastal Workforce Development Board (CWDB) and ensures grant-funded program activities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, received from the US Department of Labor – Employment and Training Administration (USDOL-ETA) are timely and efficiently processed for payment.Provides customer service to Service Providers and the general public by telephone and electronic mail; provides assistance and information related to department procedures, forms, fees, payments, or other issues; responds to routine program questions, complaints, or requests for service; researches fiscal discrepancies and initiates resolutions.Maintains participant financial database; enters obligations, expenses, and supporting fiscal and program details.Reviews and enters time and attendance information into spreadsheets for support payments.Reviews, balances, and tracks service provider invoices. Maintains financial and inventory files as needed and according to standard.Assists with gathering required information for grant fiscal, administrative, and program reviews/audits.Maintains participant database; enters financial obligations, expenses, and supporting details.Reviews and enters time and attendance information into spreadsheets for support payments.Performs general office duties, including answering the phone, sorting mail,and greeting visitors.Performs other related duties as assigned.Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by less than one year of experience in accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, or related field; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.Additional RequirementsBackground investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verificationof education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.Knowledge of general accounting principles.Knowledge of job-related software programs (Microsoft Office Applications – EXCEL, WORD, ACCESS).Knowledge of city ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures.Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work.Skill in the operation of computers and other modern office equipment.Skill in public and interpersonal relations.Skill in oral and written communications
