Job DescriptionWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting & Financial Reporting Specialist to join our finance team. The candidate will support the Authorities daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), accruals, reconciliations, VAT filing, and financial reporting.Responsibilities Perform daily accounting activities, including Accounts Payable and General Ledger transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies. Review and process supplier invoices in line with contractual terms, purchase orders, and internal controls prior to payment preparation. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for monthly and year-end closing, supported by proper documentation. Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports, ensuring timely and accurate submission. Perform regular account reconciliations (bank, suppliers, advances, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts) and promptly resolve discrepancies. Prepare and file UAE VAT returns and assist with other tax-related reporting requirements. Support external, internal, and government audits by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and statutory requirements, highlighting any inconsistencies for review. Assist in developing and updating the finance policies and procedures to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls. Handle other finance-related tasks as requested, providing support across the finance function when needed. Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing financial reporting accuracy, workflow efficiency, and system effectiveness.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution. 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, covering audit, Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), and financial reporting. Professional certification (CPA or CMA) is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT regulations, and financial reporting standards. Proficient in Microsoft systems with working experience in Oracle or similar ERP systems. Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
