Role PurposeThe Head of Sales defines and implements the sales strategy to ensure sales growth, profitability, and market share for the various product categories within his/her portfolio. He or she is responsible for managing the sales force, market coverage, distribution channel development, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Define and implement the sales and distribution strategy for products category aligned with Group objectives. Set sales targets by region, channel for products category. Supervise and coach Regional Sales Managers and field teams; deploy incentive plans and training programs. Strengthen key client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Identify new distribution channels (modern trade, export, e-commerce) and growth opportunities. Track performance indicators (revenue, volumes, margins, market share) and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure availability, efficiency, and profitability. Promote a high-performance culture, team cohesion, and succession planningCandidate Profile Education: Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Management. Experience 8–12 years’ experience in FMCG sales management, including at least 5 years leading sizeable sales teams. Strong exposure to Central or West African markets: major advantage Skills: Strong expertise in sales, negotiation, and trade execution. Solid P&L orientation and financial acumen.
Proficiency in CRM/ERP tools and commercial reporting (Excel, Power BI). Experience across multiple channels: General Trade, Modern Trade, Export. Personal Qualities: Strong leadership and ability to inspire and mobilize teams. Entrepreneurial mindset and results-driven approach. Highly organized, resilient, and able to work under pressure.
