The College's part-time science faculty are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the College's diverse students and community. The College is committed to hiring creative and knowledgeable individuals that have expertise in this area.Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction for a group of up to 24 students in a classroomAbility to instruct in at least one of the following courses: General Biology I, General Biology II, Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, NutritionDevelop and use student-centered pedagogiesDevelop and use assessment strategies that maximize the developmental learning process and measure student learning outcomesDevelop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilitiesDevelop and apply technology in and out of the classroomUse Blackboard Learning Management System to post syllabi, assignments, and gradesParticipate in the end-of-the-term grading session of a common final assessmentFulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the Agreement between the Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Community College Council/Massachusetts Teachers AssociationRequirementsMaster's degree in biology, or closely related fieldClassroom teaching of high school or college science coursesDemonstrated commitment to diversity, continuous professional improvement, developmental education, inclusive pedagogies and use of technology to support student learningWillingness to work collegially with a diverse body of faculty and staffDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher educationPreferred QualificationsDoctorate degree preferredBilingual skills a plus Working knowledge of MS Word, Blackboard LMS, and PCAdditional InformationSalary Range: The salary assigned will be as determined by the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement per credit salary chart.Location: Lowell campus, Bedford campus, or onlineHours: Adjunct faculty can teach up to three courses per semester.Expected Start Date: September 2, 2025Application Deadline: These positions will remain open until filled.Application InstructionsAll applicants must apply online by submitting:Cover LetterResumeNames and contact information for three (3) professional referencesPre-Employment RequirementsThe College will not sponsor applicants for work visas.All offers of employment at Middlesex Community College are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
