Job DescriptionThe Quality & Food Safety Coordinator (QFS) will oversee the quality assurance, quality control, and food safety functions for Caribbean Agro Industries Limited. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and improving quality management programs and procedures for the facility to ensure adherence to all quality and regulatory standards. This role will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate, customers and 3rd party audit requirements. Key Responsibilities Oversee the food safety and quality assurance programs for the location. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess adherence to food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Collaborate with production, operations, and quality control teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary. Manage the HACCP food safety program and related prerequisite programs. Ensures that products meet all specifications and requirements. Collaborate with sales, commercial, and technical teams to address customer inquiries and complaints proactively. Provide training and guidance to employees on food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and quality assurance procedures. Monitor and analyze data related to food safety metrics, conducting trend analysis and reporting findings to management. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Quality Management System.

Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and customers during inspections and audits. Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, and quality issues, implementing preventive measures to mitigate risks. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in food safety practices and quality standards. Maintain documentation to meet record-keeping requirements. Assess product quality risks as necessary to determine final product disposition. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, or related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry.

Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRC food safety standards, regulations, quality management systems, and industry standards. Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain effective food safety and quality assurance programs. Solid understanding of QA methodology and processes. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, influence, and collaborate with employees at all levels. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires working in a hot and dusty environment which includes walking, bending, climbing and standing for prolonged periods with exposure to manufacturing areas.
