Job Description

St. George’s University invites applicants for the position of Bartender at the University Club Special Note To Applicants Review of applicants will be ongoing until a suitable candidate is identified. Job Description Objective Our Bartenders should demonstrate genuine hospitality and delivering exceptional guest services in the bar and restaurant area and provide excellent service to ensure satisfaction.

Essential Functions Welcomes customers on arrival Mixing, garnishing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications Helping guests choose menu items or guiding them through drink options Taking orders and making guests feel taken care of during their time at the restaurant or event Keeping the bar stocked and clean Providing friendly and attentive service Adhering to company standards for serving alcoholic beverage Removes used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables Prepares cheques and delivers them to customers Processes cash and credit card payments and returns change to customers if necessary Meets with managers, supervisors, and wait staff daily or regularly in order to learn about changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Mixology skills Excellent memory Hands-on experience with an ordering system Attentiveness and patience for customers Excellent presentation skills A personal responsibility to safety and safety concerns Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment Active listening and effective communication skills Ability to work independently or part of a team Flexibility to work shiftsQualifications A culinary certificate or equivalent 1 year experience Basic knowledge of the various processes for beverage control and beverage handling Work Environment/Physical Demands Carry or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods; walk; use hand and fingers; handle or feel objects and controls as well as climb stairs Hours and Travel A typical work week is 40 hours per week with flexible start, break and end of day No travel is expected for this position Split shift can be required We Are Student Centric:
