FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant-Nursing.Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.Fort Valley State University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity institution and does not discriminate against applicants, students, or employees on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or marital or veteran status.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for providing administrative support for the nursing program and the Director of Nursing.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesAnswer and direct inbound calls.Address general questions concerning the nursing program.Greet and direct individuals who are visiting campus.Clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, ordering supplies, and mailing documents.Record minutes of departmental meetings.Maintain files for students, faculty, and staff.Schedule meetings and interviews.Coordinate faculty and staff travel arrangements.Develop and maintain database of student cohorts.Initiate MOUs with clinical partners and maintain database of agreements.Input courses into Banner and register nursing students for assigned courses.Secure classroom space for faculty.Coordinate nursing student orientation.Prepare new student admission packets.Order and track office supplies.Prepare written reports and correspondence.Assist with organizing nursing ceremonies.Prepare items for mailing.Receive and distribute incoming mail.Input data, monitor student/faculty progress in clinical management systems (ACEMAPP, Typhon, etc.)Complete requisitions and contract routing forms.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma with 2+ years relevant experience. Associate degree or higher in any discipline preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Knowledge of Banner system.Exceptional organizational skills.Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skillsKnowledgeable of how to operate small office equipment.USG Core Values Statement The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning, as well as the System Office.
