Job Description

Your role Whether you’re a recent graduate or in the middle of your qualified career, this Air Force role gives you the unique opportunity to add an exciting and rewarding dimension to your work, fast-track into a leadership role, and receive further study and training opportunities. As an Aeronautical Engineer in the Air Force, you’ll lead and manage teams to maintain aircraft structures, systems and equipment. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of aircraft, from F-35A Lightning IIs to C-27J Spartans, as well as propulsion systems, ancillary technical equipment and aviation ground combat support systems. Your duties may include: Maintenance Engineering: leading a team at a maintenance unit or flying squadron to maintain and overhaul equipment and ensure safe work practices Engineering Management: monitoring aircraft and equipment, supervising and evaluating equipment trials, and liaising with regulatory bodies Project Management: managing the engineering aspects of large-scale acquisitions or maintenance projects. As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought-after management skills. Location Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.
