Aeronautical Engineer (Travel Opportunities)

As an Aeronautical Engineer in the Air Force, you’ll lead and manage teams to maintain aircraft structures, systems and equipment. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of aircraft, from F-35A Lightning IIs to C-27J Spartans, as well as propulsion systems, ancillary technical equipment and aviation ground combat support systems. Your duties may include: Maintenance Engineering: leading a team at a maintenance unit or flying squadron to maintain and overhaul equipment and ensure safe work practices Engineering Management: monitoring aircraft and equipment, supervising and evaluating equipment trials, and liaising with regulatory bodies Project Management: managing the engineering aspects of large-scale acquisitions or maintenance projects. As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought-after management skills. Location Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.
