Agronomist – Algeria (Freelance/Contract/ Full-Time) About Doktar Headquartered in the Netherlands and operating in more than 10 countries, Doktar develops data-driven technologies that enable climate-smart and sustainable agriculture. Our IoT devices, digital platforms, remote sensing technologies, and sustainability advisory services help farmers, agribusinesses, and governments increase efficiency while protecting natural resources. As part of our international expansion, we are looking for a full-time Field Agronomist in Algeria to support our on-the-ground operations, farmer engagement, and field data quality. The Opportunity This role is ideal for an agronomist who is passionate about technology, innovation, and sustainable agriculture. You will work directly with farmers, manage field operations, deploy IoT devices, and support Doktar’s projects across Algeria. You will be the key link between our Climate & Sustainability Impact Team, operations & technical teams, and field stakeholders — ensuring high-quality data collection, farmer satisfaction, and accurate reporting. What You’ll Do Visit designated and non-designated fields to meet farmers and support farmer onboarding Conduct digital soil analysis and other agronomic measurements Monitor agricultural products and provide technical field support Install and maintain IoT devices in the field (weather stations, digital insect traps, flowmeters, etc.) Coordinate field operations with Doktar’s agronomy and PMO teams Prepare daily and monthly reports on field work, observations, device status, and farmer interactions Ensure high-quality data collection to support decision-making and digital agriculture toolsWho You Are Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields Ideally 5+ years of field agronomist experience Strong interest in AgriTech, digital agriculture, and sustainability Technical knowledge in industrial crops Strong communication and problem-solving skills; organized and detail-oriented Familiar with technology and open to learning new digital tools Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across Algeria’s East Coast region, covering the provinces of Annaba, Skikda, El Tarf, Guelma and Jijel.
