Role OverviewOur client is searching for an accomplished AI Sales Manager to spearhead revenue growth by selling bespoke AI solution development and implementation services. The role is focused on enterprises with unique, complex requirements and is quota-carrying, requiring demonstrated success in consultative selling of custom software development, AI/ML services, or enterprise solution implementations. The candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities with organisations seeking tailored AI applications, cultivating relationships with innovation leaders and business unit executives, and closing deals that deliver transformational, custom AI solutions aligned with specific business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas for custom AI solution engagements. Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities for custom AI development across industries such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, energy, and government. Target key decision-makers including CIOs, Chief Innovation Officers, Business Unit Heads, and Digital Transformation leaders. Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to understand unique business challenges, technical requirements, and organisational constraints. Develop bespoke proposals and statements of work that detail custom AI solution architecture, implementation roadmaps, and ROI projections. Collaborate with technical architects, AI researchers, and delivery teams to scope projects and ensure feasibility. Navigate complex procurement processes, including RFPs, vendor evaluations, and competitive bids. Manage sales cycles from initial engagement through to contract signature, often involving executive steering committees. Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with clients to support ongoing AI innovation partnerships. Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management in CRM systems. Represent at industry conferences, executive roundtables, and strategic customer meetings worldwide. Provide market intelligence on emerging AI use cases, industry-specific requirements, and competitive dynamics. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical field. 5-7 years of proven experience in directly selling custom software development, AI/ML services, or enterprise solution implementations. Demonstrated success in quota-carrying sales roles with consistent target achievement in services or consulting businesses. International sales experience with exposure to multiple geographies, such as North America, Europe, APAC, or the Middle East. In-depth understanding of AI/ML technologies, custom software development, and enterprise architecture. Experience in consultative selling with the ability to scope complex, multi-phase projects. Strong business acumen and the ability to understand industry-specific challenges and requirements. Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, particularly with C-level executives. Willingness to travel extensively, estimated at 30-40%. Preferred QualificationsMBA from a reputed institution. Experience in selling professional services, systems integration, or custom AI/ML development. Knowledge of AI solution architecture, including computer vision, NLP, predictive analytics, and recommendation systems. Proven track record of closing large custom development engagements with project values exceeding $1 million. Understanding of Agile development methodologies, DevOps, and project delivery frameworks. Experience in specific verticals such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, or government. Familiarity with emerging AI technologies, such as generative AI, large language models, and multimodal AI. Strong network of enterprise contacts and references within target industries.
