Role: Analyst / Senior AnalystExperience: 5+ yearsLocation: SydneyJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Analyst / Senior Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving skills, hands-on experience supporting production environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively with application owners, users, and senior stakeholders.Key Responsibilities• Actively analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in collaboration with team members.• Identify defects, discrepancies, and recurring patterns through code debugging and log analysis.• Manage incidents and communicate effectively with users, application owners, and senior stakeholders.• Enhance application stability and performance by identifying recurring failures and recommending permanent fixes.• Leverage AppBank Engineering tools to automate issue detection and health-restoration processes using machine learning techniques.• Identify alerts or processes suitable for automation and work with engineering teams to automate them.• Review and challenge existing application setups and processes to improve efficiency and stability.• Participate in the Change Management process to minimize risk in the production environment.• Build and enhance runbooks to reduce operational errors and increase efficiency across teams.• Develop reports and statistical trends to monitor application health and support performance.• Learn and support proprietary technologies as required—no prior experience with these is expected.⸻Required Skills & Experience• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, particularly data structures and their practical applications.• Proven experience in problem solving within development or production environments, including root cause analysis and pattern identification.• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical and functional issues to development teams and senior stakeholders.• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages:Java, C, C++, VB, .NET, ASP, Angular, etc.• Experience with at least one scripting language:Shell, Perl, JavaScript, Python, etc.• Knowledge of at least one RDBMS environment:Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle, or DB2. No work visa sponsorship available- candidate must have full Australian work rights.
