We’re proud of our working culture, as a team with diverse skillsets and backgrounds that enjoy working together on complex engagements for commercial and government clients.The OpportunityOur Wellington Deal Advisory team is looking for candidates at Analyst to Senior Analyst level to support our public sector commercial, financial, and economic advisory work.While our team has a commercial focus, we are keen to hear from candidates with a public sector background and experience in Machinery of Government, policy development, public sector investment management, the Budget process, or business case development. Our ideal candidate would bring excellent analytical, writing and problem-solving skills with a background in government policy, infrastructure, housing, finance, economics, commercial law, or professional services. As an Analyst / Senior Analyst, you might be involved in: Strategy and planning – Supporting the development of new government policy or reform programmes, or the business case for a significant government investment; Investment decision-making – Providing advice on government investment decisions, including options or economic analysis, financial reviews, or completing financial analysis to support a transaction or Budget bid; and/or Commercial transactions – Providing independent commercial advice, designing and running a procurement process, analysing tenders, and supporting the government in its commercial decision making.What You'll Bring To The TeamAt least 2-4 years relevant experience, in a government or corporate entity or professional services.A base understanding of how the New Zealand public sector works, particularly in policy, financial and investment management, and a willingness to learn.Experience working in an analytical role, providing both qualitative and quantitative analysis.Strong analytical writing and verbal communication skills, including communicating solutions to complex issues in a simple and accessible way.An ability to build authentic internal and external relationships to be responsive to client needs.Dedication to supporting a collaborative and positive team culture.Recruitment Agencies: The recruitment for this role is being managed directly by the KPMG Talent Acquisition team.
