Position OverviewReporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Design – Architectural, the Architectural Technical Designer transforms design concepts into manufacturable realities. This role bridges creative intent with engineering practicality, ensuring every project meets technical, aesthetic, and fabrication standards. You’ll work closely with design managers, project managers, engineers, and production teams to create accurate technical drawings, improve manufacturability, and support continuous process improvement across the organization.What You’ll DoTechnical Design & DocumentationProduce detailed technical drawings and fabrication files using Revit (Must have proficient in revit and a good understanding of the software) Ensure all drawings are dimensionally accurate, compliant with codes, and fully manufacturableEngineering CollaborationPartner with professional engineers to validate and optimize structural designsRecommend engineering approval for complex or high-risk projects Contribute to simplifying the stamping and approval process through accurate technical designManufacturing IntegrationCollaborate with manufacturing and estimation teams to determine the most efficient production methodsSpend time in the shop(Possible Virtual) to understand processes, materials, and equipment capabilitiesPropose material or assembly improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and sustainabilityContinuous Improvement & QualityIdentify opportunities to streamline design-to-manufacture workflowsActively challenge existing methods for accuracy, efficiency, and innovationDocument and share best practices to support team learning and standardizationWhat You BringRequired3+ years of experience in architectural or manufacturing designProficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (experience with SolidWorks(nice to have) or Inventor an asset)Strong understanding of materials, structures, and fabrication processesExceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilityExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPreferredExperience with architectural façades, canopies, or metal-clad structuresFamiliarity with signage or environmental brandingPost-secondary diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Design, or Engineering
