Position OverviewAward winning homebuilder Crystal Creek Homes is seeking a full time Architectural Technologist to join our Calgary team. The successful candidate will bring 3+ years of experience in Canadian residential home design, demonstrating both a strong technical mindset and a keen eye for detail. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about new home design and eager to help streamline and simplify the design process. An enthusiasm for exploring innovative, cutting-edge technologies is highly valued.Professional Qualifications:Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Architectural Technology from a recognized institute specializing in Residential designMinimum 3 years residential drafting experience.Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD software and be able to work with limited support in that platform.Knowledge of Revit would be considered an asset.Knowledge of Higharc would be considered an assetKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Work independently and apart of a team on multiple projects at various stages of the construction process to find efficiency in designManage and update the model library to meet the current design criteria for the builderCapacity to draft complete and accurate working drawings including plot plans in a timely manner.Act as a resource for technical questions that relate to design and the build of the home.A comprehensive understanding of construction fundamentals, building sciences, structure, current Alberta Building Codes including 9.36 National Energy Code and municipal bylaws.Ability to analyze and prioritize different projects to ensure production timelines are met.Exceptional attention to detailA self-driven individual that is proactiveResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Update and maintain model library, including base plans, details and optionsCreate new stock model plans in AutoCAD, when directedDevelop new plans and elevations that meet various architectural control requirementsComplete check plot and blackline design concepts when requiredTake concept plans to full working drawings including reviewing all contract documents for accuracy within a set timelineNegotiate Architectural Approval process and communicate revisions with developer partnersFacilitate Engineering & Layout requests in preparation for Building Permit submissionComplete Building Permit and Development Permit applications and follow-up until full Permits are released (may require travel, a valid driver license is required)Only qualified individuals will be contacted.
