Gym King believes that we are all fighting for something and that something can be achieved with the right mindset and execution, changing our lives for the better forever.We are looking for a n Assistant Buyer to work with our current team based at Gym Kings Head Office near Leeds to support the rapid growth of the business. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic fashion brand working across a key business function to learn and progress in your role within the fashion industry. The ideal candidate will be passionate, enthusiastic, and hardworking with an eye for detail. You will be driven by a love for the brand, product, and fashion with product development experience. The successful candidate will have some prior experience working in a similar role ideally within fashion or footwear. They will thrive working in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure, be keen to develop new skills and multi-task. Role Profile:Working alongside Buyer’s across various product categories driving category performance and innovation. Must be a confident communicator, liaising with suppliers as well as cross functionally within Head Office. Good problem solver, timekeeper and negotiator. Understanding of full end to end buying cycle and confident in critical path management and adhering to deadlines. Understanding the marketplace, target customer and key competitors. Assist and help develop the supply base and sourcing strategy. Admin based tasks such as order raising, order amendments, order reconcile, pulling planners together, ratio checking, line list creation. Conducting regular comp shops and market research and able to confidently present findings back. Attending weekly fit sessions. Attending weekly supplier calls and forging strong relationships with suppliers. Trading of the order file evaluating best and worst performing products and suggesting actions based on trading performance.  Working closely with the merchandising department on shipments, stock movements, qty planning and trade. Close working relationship with sales, design, garment tech, marketing and Ecom.  Key Skills & Experience·       1-2 years’ fashion buying experience is essential.·       Have excellent interpersonal skills, the confidence to present ideas to teams and influence others.·       A quick learner who can process lots of information and prioritise action.·       Relevant degree preferred but not essential.·       Clear communicator ·       Works well under pressure and fast paced environments. ·       Drive and enthusiasm, highly engaged and keen to learn and progress ·       Excellent organisational and time management skills·       Proven ability to work on own initiative and independently·       Highly self-motivated and dynamic individual·       Team player·       Proficient in Microsoft Office & Excel·       Full clean Driving Licence Gym King values:FearlessFocussedDrivenResilientTeam PlayerThe successful candidate will demonstrate behaviours that are aligned to these values.BenefitsCompetitive salary dependent upon experience25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) option to ‘buy’ up to 2 extra daysFree onsite parkingRelaxed and friendly working environment50% Gym King discount for staff, friends & family10 days Company sick pay (after completion of probationary period)Hybrid working (1 in 5 days from home, usually on a Wednesday)Health Cash Plan (after completion of probationary period)GK profit related bonus schemeFlexible start (between 08:00-10:00) & finish (between 16:00 – 18:00) timesStaff shop with heavily discounted sample Gym King productsFree Shredfast membershipCycle to WorkFully paid for annual staff partyWorking hours: Due to the nature of this role, the hours will be full time (37.5 hours per week) Monday-Friday, although a flexible approach is required at times to meet the needs of the role. Location: This role is based at Unit 6 Temple Point, Bullerthorpe Lane, Colton, Leeds LS15 9JL. 2 minutes off the M1 J46. There may be a requirement to travel as part of this role.
