We strive to be a leader in dementia care, setting benchmarks in clinical excellence, workforce capability building, and system innovation.About The RoleThe Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Nursing to shape the Lodge’s vision for dementia care. This role is both operational and strategic leadership in providing high-quality person-centred nursing practices. The D/ADON partners closely with psychosocial, allied health, and corporate support teams to drive care transformation, strengthen nursing leadership pipelines to ensure compliance with healthcare governance standards.The D/ADON will report directly to the Head of Nursing.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Governance & ComplianceAssists in ensuring Standard Operating Procedures comply with Ministry of Health (MOH) licensing requirements and Healthcare Services Act (HCSA).Supports the Quality Assurance Committee to maintain operational excellence and manage risks proactively.Leadership & StrategyCollaborates with the Head of Nursing to set and execute strategic directions that empower Persons Living with Dementia and elevate standards of care.Drives nursing initiatives and projects to provide clinical and strategic leadership in Person-Centred Care.Acts as a deputy in representing the nursing division at internal and external platforms.Workforce Capability BuildingMentors, coaches, and supervises the nursing workforce to develop high-performing and compassionate teams.Identifies and grooms emerging leaders and practitioner-trainers to strengthen the nursing leadership pipeline.Leads design and delivery of nursing and dementia care training modules.Care Excellence & InnovationContributes to the integration of evidence-based dementia interventions into daily nursing practice.Drives innovation in care models, system processes, and training to enhance residents’ quality of life.Key CompetenciesEmerging Strategic Leader: Able to work alongside senior leadership and contribute to long-term vision.Clinical Excellence: Strong grounding in clinical care standards, evidence-based practice, and dementia care.Mentorship & Talent Development: Demonstrates commitment to coaching and professional growth of staff.Collaborative & Quality-Focused: Advocates for person-centred care while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.Resilient & Adaptable: Demonstrates composure and flexibility in dynamic healthcare environments.Emotionally Intelligent: Leads with empathy, builds trust, and inspires confidence among staff and stakeholders.Job RequirementsDegree in Nursing with valid registration under the Singapore Nursing Board (Master’s Degree preferred).Minimum 8-10 years of nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong knowledge of MOH regulations, HCSA policies, and clinical audit frameworks.Experience in eldercare and dementia care, with the ability to integrate evidence-based interventions into nursing practice.Prior experience in teaching, curriculum development, or capability building in nursing will be advantageous.
